As a parishioner for years, I have often felt there to be a lack of a coherent and systematic presentation of the "whole" Gospel. Now - as a Pastor - I appreciate how difficult it is to sit down and address the issue of methodically exposing the congregation to ALL the Scriptures over a given period. I somewhat tend to ride hobbyhorses on occasion and may have a solution that could work towards avoiding that. PLEEZ read on.
Simply put - it's a "Shepherd's Calendar". Every speaking engagement (am/pm sermon, mid-week Bible Study, ladies/mens group, cell groups etc) gets entered. THIS IS NOT FOR APPOINTMENTS OR MEETINGS ETC. Only speaking events for the parish. Every entry must open up a mini-database to accommodate the Subject, Scripture, support Scriptures, occasion of the message (sermon, B Study, Youth meeting etc), speaker and optional additional entries that can be labelled by the user. PLEEZ don't stop now.
At any given point in time the user is able to generate any list or combination of lists from the calendar to survey his progress. For example: a list of all New testament Scriptures preached on over the last year. Or - a list of all Subjects dealt with over the last 6 months. Or - a summary of scriptures and subjects dealt with over the last 4 years during the month of January, or Christmas, or Easter. OR - a list of the books of the Bible not preached on for the last 5 years. Or a list of all sermons from Revelation since I became Pastor here. Etc
Pastor or parishioner alike should be able to embrace this novel module concept for it would bring enormous benefit to all involved. I've never seen anything like it and sincerely hope this goes "e-sword viral" PLEEZ "LIKE" ME AND PRAY SOMEONE CATCHES THE VISION. Thank you and have a God-filled day!

You can suggest it at www.e-sword.net/feedback.html and see what he says. I could see him being more receptive to a Sermon Calendar feature, where you can track and easily see what you've preached on and when. I really doubt he'd go for the whole time management personal organizer features. Never hurts to ask!

You're really asking for the maker of e-Sword (Rick) to go down the road of pastor management software.
Whilst it properly belongs in the field of pastor management software, it could be incorporated into e-Sword, as part of a revamped "Sermon Outline" component. Something that could easilly be added to the list of new components in message # 13 of http://www.biblesupp...tout-tutorial/.

Just a thought on this. Consider the total number of Pastors who actually use e-Sword against the total number of ordinary users of e-Sword, my question would be, "Why?"
You would have an extension in e-Sword that would (when comparing against the main population of users) be only a mere handful of users. I tend to think if we had all these kinds of add ons put into e-Sword, you would probably be taking it away from the main population of users. You would have a Pastoral Management tool more than a Bible Study tool. Just my $1 million thought on it ( the 2 cent one is totally out modded).

At best that is a guess, as in reality no research has been done to see if whether or not its viable.
Another point is this, e-Sword has a Journal editor. There is no reason why one cannot use that for what you propose, for after all it is a calendar tool.
Blessings,

Well, I can only say that I am sorry so few Pastors use this. That would be a stat that I am not privy to. I know that I am the only user registered to Burlington Ontario and and I have only found one user in Hamilton next door. If that is the case and only a handful of users are Pastors - then I am very happy to be one of them. This prog is of enormous benefit and I wish I could do more to get other Pastors on to this. I know of a few who pay huge dollars for Logos etc. I can only think that they have more money than time to research the Internet and discover e-sword. I withdraw my suggestion and you are free to delete it. With regret - Walter.
PS - with 14,000 plus users - what wld happen if they all took time to tell their Pastors about this?

We have 14,000 total members we've accumulated since June 2010. e-Sword gets more downloads than that per day. That means we're getting just a tiny fraction of the total e-Sword membership. e-Sword is larger than all other free Bible software--combined. It's crazy how big e-Sword is. Most people download e-Sword and never add-on a third party module. The people that come here to BibleSupport.com are the exception, really.

Josh, that's amazing information. e-Sword is so rich in resources and because Rick, you and others have made resources so abundant there is something for everyone - both the scholar and ploughman, poet or pauper. Life is good.

How useful Libronix is vis-a-vis e-Sword depends upon how one studies the Bible.
- If your normal mode is akin to Melissa Scott's exegesis, then it is much easier to use Libronix, than use e-Sword;
- If your normal mode is akin to that which Martin Luther taught, then it is a toss up between e-Sword and Libronix;
- If your normal mode is CENI, then e-Sword is marginally easier than Libronix;
