I am very interested in a Bible Atlas that has an index (gazetteer) for each map. E-Sword had one at one time but that was withdrawn before version 9 came out. I don't particularly want a modern atlas. I would be very happy with one made from an older non-copyrighted atlas. I know that many of them had gazetteers with them. We would just have to make a way to have the appropriate portion of the gazetteer appear with the appropriate map.

I don't remember the Atlas that had the Gazetteer in it but I understand that it was under copyright and e-Sword was only allowed to distribute it for a specified period of time. I imagine that the Gazetteer would have to be constructed from scratch using a good out-of-copyright atlas that already has a Gazetteer in the back (that would include almost all of them). That would be a gigantic task.

What puzzles me is that I don't see that other atlas on sale on the internet for e-Sword users. Why wouldn't it be made available for a price?

I just found the Atlas that I was referring to previously. Fortunately, I saved an old e-Sword version 8 on my older computer and it still has the Sonlight Bible Atlas on it. That is the one that I was talking about. It has the Gazetteer in parallel with the maps.

Whilst I agree with you, it probably is too controversial for either Rick or Phil to offer it.
(Now wondering if there is a limit on how controversial a resource can be, to be hosted here.)

Disclaimer: I requested, and received the gratis NT from them.  I still haven't decided whether or not it is worth purchasing the Protestant Canon hard copy edition.
If it contained the Orthodox canon, I'd buy it. ( In the last three or so years, I've become very reluctant to purchase hard copy Bibles that contain only the Protestant Canon.)
