Could this be an adblocker or firewall issue? I ask because e-Sword is calling out for the ad. Maybe it's required before installation can be completed. I'm on Ubuntu Linux and am running an older version of e-Sword.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

As I look at all the issues some have with e-Sword, and that its just a few who are having them, tends to give me the impression that its not a universal problem. In other words, its not happening to everyone, or the vast majority of users. So, as I think about this, the only thing that comes to mind is what is precisely the problem?! So, with that, here is a question or two, or maybe more, that I think that never gets asked, and may be worth asking.

  • How old is your machine (computer)? Maybe your machine is on its last legs and getting ready to die on you, and you need a new one.
  • When was it the last time you gave it a real decent System cleanup. as in getting rid of temp, old, and other junk files in your hardrive? All of that stuff slows down your machine so much so it struggles with the load it has to carry.
  • When was it the last time you decided to lift the lid on the tower case, and clean out all the dust that your machine has collected.

You see, what you may not realize that all of these things contributes to the things that are happening to your computer. And with that, here is another thing... I would be surprised with all the clutter, junk, and dust combined, its gotta be a miracle that your machine works at all. So with that, might be an idea to give your machine a bit of tender loving care with a bit of a spruce up, and you just might be pleasantly surprised you could have solved your issues, even with e-Sword (plus the issues you could be having with other programs).

Finally...
