I work on the road and at home, using esword all the time. I have two different TOPX directories, one on a laptop, one on a desktop. Is it possible to merge them, or am I not able to do this? I fear if I drag one to the other pc, it will overwrite and erase all the topics on the laptop, and vice versa.
Thanks for any help.
Hi Tracy,
Well, no you can't merge them as such per se because they are on totally two different machines.
Here is thought of what you can possibly do, of which I think, when looking at your circumstance, would be more of a practical solution.
Rather than having the same topx files on your PC and on your Laptop, load them onto a cloud server, such as One Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a My Cloud device. This way you can access your file and work on it whenever you are on the road, and then when you're at home you can work on it from there. Its just the one file you are working from, and that way you avoid making the mistake of overwriting or deleting the one by mistake.
A bit of my own story:
I use the cloud for doing Bible study and other work. When I am away from home I use my tablet to work on the same file, and when I am at home, I work on that file from my PC. When it comes to programming, I do the same with that when it comes to doing the coding. Everything is stored on the cloud, and that gives me the flexibility for when it comes to doing work.
However, if you don't wish to use the cloud, a simple solution is to use a pendrive (USB stick) and keep your files on that, and then work from that.
Blessings,
