I found the spreadsheet.

One page lists the number of cross-references per chapter, that are outside of the chapter.
One page lists the number of cross-references per book, that are outside of the book.
Only the 66 Book Protestant Canon is included/covered.

There is a list of about 340,000 cross references here: http://www.openbible...oss-references/

The list can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. I downloaded it, and wrote a script using T4's codebase to created the following CMTX test file: Cross References.CMTX

Note - there is a score associated with the cross references are are sorted by the score. For this test project, the score was ignored and the references were sorted by Bible order...

Hi BH,

Thank you very much for sharing and making it into a module.
I notice that it is the same as the TSK

thanks a lot

Hi all,

As I was doing a search of Cross References, I came across this link http://e-sword-users...users/node/3504 to the old site. The reading is very interesting.
Please read if you want and let me know what you think.

thanks

For sure, the TSK is the bases of the list on OpenBible.info. The Bible references in the file and in the TSK are not sorted in Bible order, and that may be for relevance of the cross-reference. And my little experiment was to take the OpenBible file, and put the references in sorted order by appearance in the Bible.

Note - for my own study, I do use occasionally the TSK-e, and a commentary. But I often to word or phrase searches and a dictionary. No cross-reference is needed to do a search.

In preparing some of the modules I have, and reading about their authors, I am amazed at what people in the past could do. Pharisees of old such as Paul would have committed to memory vast portions of the OT. In recent times, some authors I've read about had the entire NT committed to memory. These people had their own cross-references built in.

hi BH,

Yes I understand how some people do remember The Bible and have their own Cross References. I know of a Bishop that can quote scripture (it is like listen to Paul).

Thanks for doing the CR and uploading it.

I worked with "bookworm" to on his project through Genesis. Genesis alone had 50,000 cross-references. It does not appear to me that he made the jump from eSU to BibleSupport and I do not know the state of his project. I did write a special version of T3 for him to use on his project. If Genesis is any indication, the project was going to be huge. "bookworm" was the compiler of the NTSK and Nelson's Cross-reference. In talking to him early on, what he was doing was doing Bible searches and compiling his updated list.
