#4425 Using Microsoft Word to Make Modules

Posted by BaptizedBeliever on 08 December 2011 - 04:09 PM

I would search for superscript font--by using Josh's directions above--and search for this ([0-9]{1,3})  Then I would replace with regular font :\1

All of this with wildcards on.

#4367 Convert 9x-10x files back to 8x?

Posted by BaptizedBeliever on 06 December 2011 - 07:59 PM

I have had a request from a friend who has no desire to upgrade from e-Sword 8.  Is it possible to take a resource and convert it backwards from cmtx to cmt?

#4346 Formatting problems

Can someone tell me how to create a macros for Word?  I want to be able to hit ctrl-m to place the division symbol, just like in ToolTip.

It's Word 2010, in case that matters.

#4232 New English Bible/Revised English Bible

Posted by BaptizedBeliever on 01 December 2011 - 11:22 PM

And fun enough, I located some of the OT books (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Leviticus, Job, Psalms) for the NEB as well.  So, we'll see where this leads...

#4223 New English Bible/Revised English Bible

I have found the NT text of the NEB at the following website:

http://www.katapi.or...troContents.php

And as far as I know, the publishers no longer publish the NEB and have no interest in doing so.

I have been looking for the NEB and the REB, but to no avail.  Is there anywhere that the text of these can be found online?  I thought I read somewhere that the REB was once available as a bblx, but I can't find it.

Thanks in advance,

#4127 NET Bible/Notes Updated for e-Sword 10

Well, getting the replacement NET premium module was easy enough.  Emailed them, and they sent me a direct link.  Their notes are worth the price of admission for sure!

#4110 Bibles - Cotton Patch Version bblx

Posted by BaptizedBeliever on 28 November 2011 - 12:03 AM

File Name: Cotton Patch Version bblx

File Submitter: BaptizedBeliever

File Submitted: 28 Nov 2011

File Category: Bibles

Author: Clarence Jordan
e-Sword Version: 9.x - 10.x
Suggest New Tag:: New Testament, paraphrase

This is Clarence Jordan's interesting paraphrase of most of the books of the NT. Interested in making the Bible more meaningful to people in the racially divided southern US, Jordan changed the Jew/Gentile rift to a black/white rift. He placed Jesus in Georgia instead of Judea. Paul was taken to Washington for trial instead of Rome.

Though derided by many, his attempt to make the Bible applicable to people in their situations is admirable. That doesn't mean this paraphrase is accurate by any stretch. But you will find it interesting.

#3661 Bibles - Acts 29 - An Apocryphal Addition of Paul's Missionary Travels

Posted by BaptizedBeliever on 12 November 2011 - 08:51 PM

File Name: Acts 29 - An Apocryphal Addition of Paul's Missionary Travels

File Submitter: BaptizedBeliever

File Submitted: 12 Nov 2011

File Category: Bibles

Author: Sir John Newport
e-Sword Version: 9.x - 10.x
Suggest New Tag:: Apocryphal Additions

In the late 1800s, after his death, Sir John Newport's belongings were sold. Supposedly among them was a Greek manuscript purporting to be the final chapter of the book of Acts (since Acts 28 ends abruptly and is missing the typical "amen" which ends so many other NT books, some assume it was incomplete). This manuscript is a forgery, written for the purpose of promoting "Anglo-Israelism" (the false doctrine that the inhabitants of Britain and America are actually the "lost ten tribes" of Israel).

Among the proofs that it is a forgery is that no Greek manuscript has ever been presented, but only an English version claiming to be a translation of the non-existent Greek manuscript.

This download contains "Acts 29" as a bblx file (you will find the text in Acts 28). It also contains a short commentary file which was written by some who hold to that doctrine, thus they defend it's "authenticity."

Again, just to make sure there is no misunderstanding, this is a forgery, written 1800 years after the death of Paul. But it is interesting, which is why I am uploading it.

#2546 Question regarding formatting

Posted by BaptizedBeliever on 10 October 2011 - 09:02 PM

Well, I finally figured out my problem.  I'm not exactly why it was doing this, but when I opened up the SQlite program, I could still see the commentary and extra Bibles as options to open.  But they were still nowhere to be seen in the regular e-sword folder when i opened it normally.  I deleted them via SQlite, and they are now gone.  but i also lost some of my other Bibles in there in the process.  Ugh...

But at least now my new version (thanks tooltip) shows up and looks pretty decent!

Thanks!
