There is a tool available for converting Study, Topic, and (perhaps) Journal notes available from e-Sword.net one the Extras page, which will, as you can see, will make your notes compatible for OSX. Just click on the highlighted blue text, and it will take you there.

Hi

I just completed this exercise, & converted a few downloaded topics using the new e-sword Apple conversion utility, the trick is after installing the Mac conversion utility, I had to run the converter EXE directly from the e-Sword program files in order to get it to work.

However having done a few conversions, & transferred them from e-sword Program Files to the MAC, I am not sure how to install them on the MAC  , i tried double clicking them m but that did not work!  Appreciate any advise if someone has done this before.

Blessings

john

Hi

The converted resources are installed as follows (per Rick);

Select “File, Resources, Import” from the e-Sword X menu.  You can choose one or more modules to import at once.  Restart e-Sword X after importing your modules.

Hi John,

I hope you might be able to tell me this, as I wouldn't know from my own experience considering that I"ve never used a Mac, and that I don't own one.

I use Dropbox on my PC which I've synced with my mobile devices, both phone and tablet. And I'm curious to know if Dropbox (and other cloud based services) would work on Mac OSX and iOS systems. Because if it does, then I think this could save a heap of problems when it comes to transfering/syncing converted resource files from one system to another.

Hi Stephen

I use Dropbox as well, its a great way to store documents (similar to Google drive) & be able to browse them later from anywhere.

In this case for example, I would'v been able to install converted files on the MAC, which had been transferred to Dropbox from WIN XP system, although I did not follow that approach , I just had the files on a USB.

However I did test downloading a DOC file on the MAC which I had migrated to Dropbox from my XP system.

Hi John,

Thanks for your response. Its good to know that Dropbox does work with Macs and etc, and that one can transfer data between systems.

The one thing about USB pen drives is that they really work well if all else fails. Perhaps the best backup type system that was ever invented. Of which this reminds me, Driod mobile devices (phones and tablets) when plugged into your PC's USB port, works well as an external drive. I dunno how well  Droid or Windows mobile devices would work on a Mac for transfering data either way. Be interesting to find out.

Hi Stephen

USB sticks & hard drives work fine, however if their format them is FAT then the MAC will both read & write on them, otherwise with the standard format (NTFS i think) the MAC will only read it & will not be able to write on it.

Blessings
