Howdy Y'all,

I am a super noob to modifying E-sword. I have been reading the manual for the tool tips tool and have a question. Is the only way to write your own commentary by using tool tips? Is it impossible  to create a tab for yourself and just start writing your commentary from inside E-sword itself?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did not see anything about it.

May God bless y'all for all of your hard work.

hi

what you can do is make your cmt by using Study notes in Editors section.  Once you are done. Open it in Tool Tip Tool NT,  Just redo the Define section and save it as a cmt.

thanks

Thank you @Patchworkid for your prompt reply.

After I do what you have suggested, will I be able to just go along and add to my commentary everyday in E-sword? And will it have its own tab or will I have to use the drop down?

Thanks again and sorry about the noob questions.

hi

You can continue to add to your study notes, but as soon as you convert it over to a cmt using Tool Tip Tool NT. You will have a locked cmt module but you still have the Study note in e-Sword which you can add to it.

When you are ready to redo your cmt from your Study Notes do the same process over again.

I am making or continuing my cmt thru RTF in Tool Tip Tool for it is a huge cmt.

thanks

Howdy again @patchworkid and of course, many thanks.

I understand the need for the RTF part, I had been writing my own cmt for about five years, and it was a huge file, well as far as being mostly text goes. Wish I had put it up in the sky drive or someplace as I lost it all when the house burned down. However, I figure if the Lord gave it to me once, and if He wants me to have it again He will provide.

I wish there was someway that we could make a tab in the editor section that would let us build our own cmt. Of course in my wish world it would still have all the tools that the editor jornal etc has LOL

Thank you again patchworkid and may God bless you and keep sharing insights with you for your cmt
