I tried to change my NIV tab using SQlite to 84NIV but got a popup saying that the Data could not be updated. I also tried using the E-sword tab changer but still didn't fix the problem. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Close e-Sword first and then try.

Make sure you are not editing the file using any other program. You might want to restart.

Then use the latest version of esword tab renamer. If your install folder is c:\program files x86\esword, or any such location that requires permission, the program will notify you and then restart with elevated privileges.

I am not using any other program, and I am using the latest version of esword tab renamer. I do get a notice saying that "This operation needs elevated rights. This program will close and restart asking for rights." It then proceeds to restart and I change the tab name but then the same message comes up again. It just continues to do the same thing. The renamer program is installed in the program files x86\esword.

The program isn't acquiring administrative rights. You should be the administrator of your PC. That's a whole another story. If you can login as admin, it would help tremendously. Otherwise, you will need to move the file out of c:\program files x86\e-sword into another folder like c:\test and perform the operation there.

Another option, which may be easier for most - just move the files you want to work on right to the desktop. They'll be very easy to find no matter program someone is using. Once modified, just move them back into the proper folder.

I moved the file to my desktop, and then tried to change the tab again - no change. The same message came up again. Puzzling&
