I know it is possible to do extended searches in Bible, Commentaries and Dictionaries or IOW to do exhaustive searches of all resources in those categories. So far, I have not figured out if it is possible to search all my journal notes, or all my study notes, or all topic notes. Am I missing it somewhere? Thanks!

You can search a single Topic but not across multiple topics..
We've previously discussed Topics here before. It's probably the single most underdeveloped feature of e-Sword because the use of Topics has outgrown it's original intent. The developer is aware that the Topics area needs overhauling and he said he's working on new Topics functionality for e-Sword version 10. We don't know when version 10 will be released, or even if an extended search will apply to Topics with that release. I hope it does.
