ME 1,

This is a user group. It sounds like you have questions for the author. Here's a link for you:

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I am running a PC w. XP3 but I have not had problems w. ver. 10 or 11.  I had to go back to ver. 10 because of the copy issues.  W7 never impressed me, cuz some programs work only in XP.  Dunno about XP mode in W7 I read pros & cons.

I too am still using Windows xp sp3 on my shop computer, and have esword 10.4 on it. It has been a BIG blessing for me, so I simply will not upgrade. But I understand there will soon come a time (actually, its now) when developers will have to simply forget win xp and work with the majority. You just can´t make everybody happy. Us dinosaurs who will stick to win xp will have to survive somhow for some time.  :D  God bless yall!

Ariel,

Using XP today has massive risks to it due to the fact that Microsoft no longer supports it. More than that, due to the fact that XP is no longer supported you computer is extremely vulnerable to hacks, viruses, and malware.

Wow, and I thought I was old fashioned since I am still running W7. Really unless one is a computer wizard, XP does have problems with getting malware. I suppose the same can/will be said of W7 soon. Only reason I haven't gone to W10 is the backdoors talking to microsoft servers though most and even many geeks seem not to care about that aspect of it. There are ways to stay online even with outdated OS and even outdated browsers if one knows some tips. Yes, MS does things to make it difficult to run old OSs with new programs. They don't have to do that but like Apple, they want to make more money for themselves and their venders. Supposing one wants to stay with XP, you will need extra skills to use it. And if he is that good, why not do a dual boot, virtual machine, etc?

I'm in an identical situation.

I have a very robust computer with an XP Pro sp3 operating system. After updating e-Sword nothing e-Sword works.

Up to this point I am not seeing a simple honest answer to the original question. Does e-Sword still work in an XP system or not?

If not, please be so kind as to post that information somewhere on the download page.

If e-Sword is still compatible with XP what tweaks are required to restore our functioning e-Sword programs?

APsit190 your rather blah-zay answer to Mr. Taylor put me in mind of James 2:16

Please remember who you are and what you are doing here.

According to this page on the official website it does not run on XP. [this was not the case 2-3 years ago http://www.biblesupp...em/#entry29270]

https://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html

For version 11.2.2

Minimal system requirements:

  • Windows Vista or Windows 7 / 8 / 10
  • Pentium based PC (or equivalent)
  • 800 x 600 resolution or greater

no mention of anything in the change log that alters 11.2 from 11,  11.1.  I see no reason why it should not work. I do not use 11. etc. because copy/paste problem which is not a OS problem but a 11 problem.   I still use MS word 2000 as well.  when working on 2000 pp. doc.s (HDB 5 VOL.s) one does not need awkward programs to add more time to a challenging task.

I do not use 11. etc. because copy/paste problem which is not a OS problem but a 11 problem.

Experienced no copy and paste issues in versions 11.1 and 11.2. If copy and paste issues were there, would now have been fixed

May do a video on copy and paste in current e-Sword version to show no issues are there.

Trust you find this helpful to you.

Blessings,
