Thank you but I wasn't clear. My intention is to sync my notes with the bible verse I am on in the same way I can with commentaries. This is possible on windows but I can't seem to figure it out on Mac.
By the way your video was one of the few screencasts I have found for this product. Thank you for taking the time to make it!
yes.

I did not intend to mislead at all. This is not a video I made. It is one that is a link on the official e-Sword X FAQ

StudyThe Study Notes editor is used for creating your own personal commentary on the Bible. This is where you will write down your discoveries pertaining to a particular Bible verse. To set up the Study Notes editor for writing notes on a particular Bible verse, first you must make it the "active" Bible verse, then click the "Synchronize Notes" button: [image]. This will create a new entry in the database, or select it from the database if you already have notes on it.To edit an existing Study Note, just select it from the Study Notes combo box. When you Save changes to the note (Command+S) you will see a "Note" icon in the Bible view after the verse's reference link: [image]. You can click on this icon to see your notes in a popover tooltip! To completely delete an existing Study Note, first select all of the note's contents (Command+A), next press the Delete key, then "Save" the changes (Command+S).
Perhaps the answer to your question is here. Again this is from the official help. (The images don't show in this post, so it is best to follow the link)

I don't see the note icon in the Bible view after the verse's reference and I have it synced with the active verse. What am I missing?
PS, I would upload a screenshot but I don't know how. When i click on my media, it shows nothing and I don't know how to upload content so that I can use it here.

Please note:
1) The indicator that you have added a Study Note is not an icon but rather a wavy line under the verse reference in the Bible View.
2) The wavy line will ONLY appear After you have added the text of the note to the editor *AND* in the bible view you have navigated away from, the verse by changing to a different chapter then returning to the chapter, containing the verse with a study note.

OOPS!!! I just realized that you were asking about e-Sword X. My comments apply to e-Sword for windows. I do not know anything about the Mac version.

HOW TO ATTACH PERSONAL NOTES TO A PARTICULAR VERSE
I just learned how to do this in a Mac and it is fairly simple
First click the cursor on the start of the verse to highlight it, and then go Control Click in the verse reference(each verse has one at the start of the verse). I clicked on Prov 5:8 and a drop down list appears there, with Note as the fifth option. Click on Note and a field appears in which you can type a thought, or copy in something saved elsewhere. I wrote "Going to bed with the world is a dangerous business). Finally go Command+S to save it. The note immediates becomes like a thought bubble for that verse, and a little Pen icon appears next to the verse reference. So when reading through the passage some time, and you see the Pen icon, click on it an Then your saved nots appears, hovering below the verse.
Hope this helps
Roger
