Hi Josh,
I suggest that you have an alert to overwriting an existing file.

Josh,

This is a great e-sword utility. It really eases the problem of installing modules, specially for noobs.

One suggestion: Is it possible for it to handle multiple installs (install all modules), from a user selected folder?

The "Reading Folder" is for things such as NOTX, LSTX, JNLX type files, where users add data to the files.

I saw the Reading path setting. But changing that path in the registry does not change the the way e-Sword 10 behaves. No matter what the reading path is set to, the Editors always default back to my documents\e-sword. Even if you manually open an Editor file from another location and the Editor is actively reading that file, the next time you open a file in the Editor, the Open File window defaults back to my documents\e-sword. e-Sword ignores the Reading path setting and hardcodes the user back to my documents\e-sword.

That's a good idea and easy to do.

That's a good idea and would require some thinking since I don't do this everyday. I think I could load each filename selected into an array, count the number of files selected, display each one on the GUI (if enough room or put them in a text box), and loop the copy routine X times based on the number of files. Thinking outloud, it's doable.

I just pushed out 0.4 to warn when overwriting files. That is something that is beyond "nice to have". It's a "need to have" to avoid a potentially upset user.

The app recognizes every resource that BibleSupport.com distributes. There's a few other resource types but no one realistically distributes them:

  • OVLX:
    • A markup overlay file is included in the commercially distributed Rainbow Bible Package;
    • A markup overlay file was included in a Documentary Hypothesis package that is no longer distributed;
  • ANLX: A Verse Analysis file was included in a Bible Study package that is no longer distributed;

Alright, new version 0.3 here: http://www.biblesupp...dule-installer/

It now detects your e-Sword Resource folder automatically.

Super! Thanks for being so agreeable. Many developers come up with excuses why something cant be done (pride, stubborness or not knowing how to do it). This will make your installer more versatile. The overwrite warning was a user friendly add too.

A user confirmed this installer is working on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 today. I could only test it through XP previously. So I think installer will work on virtually every Windows PC.

Josh,
With the exception or Windows versions 1 through to 3x! I just had to throw that one in. I just couldn't resit that one! It was there staring at me right into my face telling me, Stephen, do it, put it in. Go on, I dare ya to, and so I weakened and did it.

Blessings,
Stephen (Php 1:21).

Win2K is part of the Windows NT family of operating systems:
  • Windows NT 3.1;
  • Windows NT 3.5;
  • Windows NT 3.51;
  • Windows NT 4.0;
  • Win2K;
  • WinXP;
  • WinVista;
  • Win7;
What is untested is if it runs on the Windows 9x series:
  • Windows 95 (95, 95 A, 95 B, 95 B USB, 95 C);
  • Windows 98 (98,98 SE);
  • Windows ME;
