Hello. can anyone tell we where the downloaded resources are stored on a Android device and can they be moved to a installed SD card? If everything is downloaded and stored on the internal storage of the deivice, memory will soon become an issue. Thank you!

That kind of question could be best answered by Rick Meyers, the creator/developer of e-Sword. Click here to make your query.

Android devices have a folder called "Files" where all downloaded files arrive when first downloaded. From that folder the files can be imported into e-Sword for Android using the programs input feature.

Here are step by step instructions for moving files to and from an SD card:

Move or copy files to your SD card
You can move or copy files to an SD card on your device.
Files by Google works on Android version 5.0 and up. If you don’t have the app, you can download it from the Play Store.

Move or copy files from Categories section
On your Android device, open Files by Google .

At the bottom, tap Browse Browse.
Under "Categories," select a category.
Find the file you want to move or copy.
At the top right, tap More More and then Move to or Copy to.
Tap SD card.
If you want to move or copy files to a new folder:
Choose where you want to create a new folder, then tap Add new folder.
Enter folder name in the pop-up.
Tap Move to folder or Copy to folder.

If you want to move or copy files to an existing folder:

Choose the folder you want to move or copy the file to.
Tap Move here or Copy here.
Move or copy files from Storage devices section
On your Android device, open Files by Google Files by Google.
At the bottom, tap Browse Browse.
Scroll to "Storage devices" and tap SD card.

Find the files you want to move or copy in the selected folder.

To move or copy one file:
Next to the file, tap More More.

To move or copy multiple files:
At the top right, tap More More and then Select.
Next to each file you want to move or copy, check the circle.
At the top right, tap More More and then Move to or Copy to.

Move files through clean tab
On your Android device, open Files by Google Files by Google. Learn how to view your storage space.
At the bottom left, tap Clean Clean.
On the "Move to SD Card" card, tap Select files.
Select which files you would like to move.
Tap Move to SD Card.

Troubleshooting: SD card undetected issue
If Files by Google doesn't show your SD card:

On your device, open your Settings.
Tap Device maintenance and then Storage.
Check if your SD card is recognized.
If the SD card isn’t recognized in Settings: Remove and reinsert the SD card.
If the SD card is recognized in Settings but not in Files by Google: The SD card may be formatted as internal storage. Learn how to format an SD card as a portable storage.

Hey Higgsy, on this issue:

Android devices have a folder called "Files" where all downloaded files arrive when first downloaded.

We have a, "Houston, we have a problem" kind of scenario with regard to what you said. See Video below:

So, maybe what you said about that folder name, is that it may have to be created, and that you forgot to mention that fact. I'm trying to let you off the hook. :D

For best viewing, either the "Watch on YouTube" button.

Blessings,

OK, so what is the brand/make of your phone?

With regard to the resources that are downloaded using the e-Sword built-in downloader, these files cannot be seen in the file manager. And if this part of the question can be answered as to where they are located, that would be fantastic.

Blessings,

My phone is an Android Tracfone and my tablet is a Kindle Fire 8

The kindle has a folder among the app icons labeled "Files" one tap and I have access to any files I download such as e-Sword modules from here on Bible Support

I know the files download from within e-Sword for Android can be seen or accessed but as I said above third party modules and files land in the tablet's "Files" folder.

Ah, so... then it would appear that the "Files" folder in your devices are brand related, and not necessarily universally created by all brands. And from my perspective, it appears that this folder is not  just exclusive just to e-Sword 3rd party resource files, but is perhaps more general to any files one may download.

Yes it is a general download folder where any downloaded files land with the e-sword modules from here on bible support once the module is in the files folder all I need to do is run the import feature in e-Sword for Android

Cool, then that would be like (as you may have seem in my video) what folder is called "Download" folder on my device. And so, whatever the folder is called, is peculiar to the maker/brand of the device(s).

Thanks for your input, Higgsy. Much appreciated. And that "Houston, we have a problem" is well and truly cleared up.

Blessings,
