I'm looking for the "Bible Compare Tool". I have been redirected from e-sword-users.org to these pages, but I could't find this utility. Is here anybody having it?

The Bible Compare Tool was classified as "obsolete" probably because it only works on Version 8. Will version 8 work for you? I can retrieve and upload the tool here.

Hi Derek and Josh

The old BibleCompareTool was useful, but it gave a lot of false alarms when verses were out of order. Let's say you had a Bible with Psalm 151, or Daniel 3 (or 13 and 14) and it would give an error for every verse in the next few chapters, and do it twice, as a missing verse and then as an additional verse. So you had to check hundreds of verses where really there was none wrong.

I have just uploaded a much better tool we prepared at the International Spanish e-Sword Team. Right now it only works with e-Sword 8 modules (we expect to release a new version with e-Sword 9 support soon) but it's easy to convert your modules to 8 using BeST. The tool is named ComparaBiblias and it available at the Downloads - e-Sword utilities section:
http://www.biblesupp...-bible-compare/

This file is free for everybody to use.

This tool allows you to choose which books you want to compare, and it also supports password-protected modules (you need to type the password, of course). The results are displayed in a much clearer way than in the old tool. So far I haven't had any false positives, no matter whether verses are out of order.

It will report missing, additional and duplicated verses. It will also allow comparing by percentage.

The tool was written in Spanish, but the interface is translated to English if the accompanying .ini file is found in the same folder as the executable.

I do recommend to use this tool. Most Bibles out there have missing and duplicated verses. The International Team never publishes any Bible module without checking it with this tool.

Regards,

Carlos

Hi Derek,
I know that you probably are aware of this, yet nevertheless I'll state the obvious at the risk of being boring.

e-Sword has two "Compare" type tools built into it.
  • The Compare Tab. Here you can compare a verse of Scripture against all the translation you have.
  • The Parallel Tab. Here you can compare up to 8 different translation of the Bible you wish.
Although these e-Sword built in "tool" may not be what you want, yet nevertheless they are really good for any comparative work you wish to to.

Blessings,
Stephen (Php 1:21).

I thank you all. I know that e-sword can compare text, but I need the structural comparision of texts for preparing new bible modules (Polish). Then I can convert prepared texts into e-Sword ver. 9. Now I have downloaded "ComparaBiblias" - It looks very-very good. Thank you "ebulerdo". But "Bible Compare Tool" was also useful for me, "John Bond" - update it, please.
Blessings,
DK
