Hello,

I've recently switched over from Mantis Bible Study in which we have thousands of study notes that were linked to verses in the app. we've copied the text from the database on Mantis and would like to import these notes into eSword and have them be connected to the verses as well...is this possible and if so, is there a step by step process we go through to do it? We have Apple iPhones , iPads and MacBooks.

Please help!!

In His Grace,

Shari

Hi Shari,

Could you give us a bit more information regarding the type of Database engine used for the Mantis Bible Study, e.g., if it is SQLite, Microsoft Access, or some other, as that would be helpful.

Another thing you need to be aware of, is that if the Database files used in Mantis are SQLite, yet they may not be able to be imported in for e-Sword SQLite Database files because of the differences of the Database schema.

Now, although I'm a programmer, I am not a Database wiz-kid. Me and Databases just don't see eye to eye. And therefore those who are way more adapt to databases than me would give you far better and more accurate information than I have done.

Cheers and Blessings,

Thank you very much. I sent an email to Rick Meyers , the owner and creator of eSword and he took the .txt file from Mantis and converted it for me to .noti which I then imported into my eSword app through the documents section in iTunes onto my iPhone and iPad. What a sweet man to do that for me!!

Well, for me, to call him "sweet" would be totally weird, but a great bloke and a good man, yep, I can go along with that.

I guess one could say this about him, his blood is worth bottling, and he's worth his weight in gold. Just don't tell everyone that his blood's worth bottling, or else they'll just bleed him dry. And I hope that he just doesn't weigh too much so we don't have to fork out a lot of gold.

Blessings,
