why does not every bible program that allows 3rd party modules not have it's own wysiwyg creation tool

e-Sword does have T4 and look how big the library is because of it so much so that that each other bible program has its chain of programs to get that module into there program BUT does not the module lose some features such as color or is not that the conversion is unable as iit s to use certain features of that programs

I created modules before T4 and it previous versions, with MED and others that where just compilers everything had to be marked up it was so time consuming

Coasta has a e-Sword conversion tool But it does not use all the features that it could i.e. that module can't as is you all the features of TheWord after the conversion the modules still would need modifying

It seems to me that that if there is a bible study program that allows 3rd party modules it should have there own WYSIWYG module creation tool that can make full use of all the feature for that particular bible study program

it might be that only the developer of that particular program can answer

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Just a funny thought :-); They all use e-Sword and it's masses of resources to convert over to their medium size resources.

I really do not know

Hi Niobi,

I gave this a like only because I find what you said really interesting.

When it comes to e-Sword, when in comparison to other Bible software, genuinely doesn't have the grunt and power of what others have. Best example of that is theWord. Lets really face the facts. theWord totally outstrips e-Sword when it comes to bells and whistles. There is no shadow of a doubt that when it comes to what one can do with theWord program, e-Sword really doesn't doesn't have it. However (and this is a huge however) the converse is also equally as true: theWord doesn't have what e-Sword has, and what e-Sword has what theWord doesn't have is what makes e-Sword better and stronger than theWord.

From both what I've heard, and what I've seen, the biggest pitfall of theWord is that it is cumbersome to use, followed by a huge learning curve.

But that's not all.

e-Sword's has been, note this, deliberately designed for new Christians, as where other Bible software haven't. Now, this is critically important, because it shows that e-Sword has been made, not as a general type Bible study program, but specifically targeted to a particular group.

But that's not all.

If one takes the time to carefully read the EULA in the About Dialog, what one will see is that there is a missional purpose to e-Sword. Now, when you see things like that, then you begin to see God's hand in it. The best way I can put it is like this: e-Sword is a full free Bible program. Note this, it is not shareware, it is not cut down/disabled (like the "free" version of MySword is). Now, having said that, the EULA states that:

You may make copies for yourself and friends, provided that any distribution is also free. You may not charge for the program itself, nor may you charge for any type of duplication costs, postage, etc. You must not do anything to suggest to the person to whom it is distributed that e-Sword is anything other than free software.

Now, that is huge because it is in this statement that makes e-Sword missional. With that, I honestly don't think one could find a more generous End User License Agreement than that.

As for why other Bible software doesn't have (or do) what e-Sword has (or does), I have to agree with you and say, "I don't know." But I can guess... they aren't missional, and that says it all, and that speaks volumes.

Blessings,
