I've downloaded Don Krow's Discipleship-Mastering the Basics and installed it using the Module installer.

Yet I can't find it in e-sword (STEP-reader).

What am I doing wrong?

It is a .topx file. You view this resource via the "Reference Library..." in the tools menu; Same thing via the books icon, on the top bar of the main program.

Hi Jahn,

It's not so much that you're doing anything wrong, its rather that you don't know what the actual file format is that you're downloading and where to access them.

All the Book resources here are in either in topx or refx format Those in topx format can be read in either the Topic Note Editor or the Reference Library. Those in refx format can only be read in the Reference Library.

When downloading any e-Sword resource, the default installation folder is, for XP, C:\Program Files\e-Sword, for Windows 7 and above, C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword. e-Sword's Reference Library accesses them for that default folder.

For more information regarding e-Sword's Reference Library, refer to your e-Sword User Guide by clicking on Contents in the Help Menu or F1 on your keyboard.

Blessings,

Greetings, I am using E-Sword X for Mac and cannot find the files in E-Sword that I have downloaded for reading. For example, I downloaded "The Crisis of the Christ" by G. Campbell Morgan, it is a topx.exe file. But how do I get that file into E-Sword so that I can read it?

Other files I cannot seem to view in E-Sword are .refx files.

Can someone give me a very basic, slow, "clap out the syllables" explanation of how to view these files I've downloaded?

Thank you in advance.

You need to convert refx to refi and topx to topi with the Apple convertor.

Thank you. When I try to open the Apple convertor it tries to open "Elmedia Player"; apparently my computer is not recognizing a .exe file.

Any suggestions?

I cannot run the Apple Convertor on my Mac computer. Macs don't run .exe files.

You have to install the "Bootcamp" program, which in essence is another operating system (Windows) that you can boot to.

Or you have to use "Wine" program, which did not and will not install properly on my Mac in order to run the .exe convertor program.

In essence, the "Apple Convertor" at https://e-sword.net/extras.html does not work on a Mac.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Surely somebody is using the .refx and .topx files on a Mac?

You can download a program called Crossover Mac which will allow you to run Windows software on a MAC.

The program is available from a company called Codeweavers at the following link:

Thank you; I just downloaded and installed Crossover Mac, but again this does not work. When trying to run the .exe convertor file I get an error message saying I do not have E-Sword installed, or have an earlier version than 11.2 (which is a Windows file).

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

You need to install e-Sword in addition to the converter.
