I have been using E-Sword for several years now, with many modules from the E-Sword Download menu and some Premium modules on my MacBook Pro.

Last night I tried to download a few modules from this site. They downloaded.

I can see the bottles. They show up in:
  • CrossOver/File/Recent Files.
  • CrossOver/Configure/Manage Bottles
I can't see them in E-Sword/Tools/Reference Library

I tried Lewis Sperry Chaffer Major Bible Themes, Early Church Fathers by Topic.dtex.exe

I'm not very familiar with CrossOver.

Did you install them into their own bottles?
If so, reinstall them into the same bottle as e-Sword is in.

Hey, Caveman.

Cool screen name. Is your real name "Grog?"

OK - eSword (no matter what system it's running on) is looking at file structure. This will be relative to your Mac setup, but the vast majority of your files (including all .topx, .refx, .cmtx, .bblx & .dctx - topic files, reference files, commentary files, Bible files, and dictionary files) will need to be "unzipped/extracted/placed" into the same folder as the e-Sword program files.

Jonathan and Dave,

Thank you very much. With your information I figured out what I did wrong and now have Chafer's works and several other references I have wanted for years. I most certainly appreciate your help!

The "Caveman" screen name is a typical nic-name for me. I used to be a failry avid caver, taught cave rescue, and own a wonderful Cave Astrola 10" f7 Newtonian telescope. Although I am now a broken down, worn out, delapidated caver, I still carry the Nic-name.

Thanks guys.

Caveman,

You'll always be "Grog" to me! PTL!

If e-Sword is available for the Mac, Rick has done an excellent job in not telling anybody.

What you describe sounds like downloaded e-Sword HD, for the iPad. That program won't run on Mac OS X Mountain Lion.

If you tried to install e-Sword 10.1.x on a Mac Pro, then you need to first install either CrossOver, or other emulation software.
Then install the DLLs and other things that e-Sword needs.
Then install e-Sword.

Once you've done that, fire up e-Sword, and it should work.
Then test out downloading the resources, internally.

Hi Joshua,
I have just downloaded the opensource Mac version Macsword from http://macsword.en.softonic.com/mac and there was a helpful video added with the download that showed you how to do this. There are also user guides on following website www.macsword.com/
By the way I have had a good play and looks pretty cool. I am using Mac OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion.

Hope this helps- Peter
