There is no way to do that, the best option is to alphabetize the authors by last name

What is the easiest way to put them in alphabetize by last name. I tried to drag them but it would not move them.

Just to add, the best practice I've been taught is:

Last Name

First Name(s) or Initial(s), or First Name and Initial

Title and/or Subtitle

Example:

In ascending (A-Z) order

Copeland, Mark - A Closer Walk With God.refx

or

Copeland, M - A Closer Walk With God.refx

etc.

Trust you will find this information helpful.

There is a way to organize Reference Library (aka Reference Books) refx files!  Use Tab Renamer to modify the "Module Title" field. Refx files downloaded from e-Sword are listed per Module Title rather than filename.

If the refx file was created via the Topic Editor conversion capability it lacks the "details" table that e-Sword downloaded refx books have. The request below was posted yesterday looking for help with this challenge.  No responses yet.

I'm looking for help regarding e-Sword's ability to convert my topics (file extension *.topx) content to a reference book (*.refx).

The conversion creates a refx file that lacks the "details" table e-Sword uses to organize reference book files (rather than renaming the file as I have been doing).  I've been successful adding the "details" table using DB Browser for SqLite and can use Tab Renamer to modify details - I prefer this over changing the filename.  Unfortunately adding "details" causes the content of the reference book to not display!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hank

The Tab Renamer works only for renaming Bible, Commentary, and Dictionary/Lexicon, and Map tab names. Both Topic Notes and Reference Book files are loaded into their respective Dropdown Combo Boxes which only displays their filenames when e-Sword starts up, and therefore there is no possible way to edit them in Tab Renamer.

Stephen and others interested in having e-Sword reference files in a specific order,

It is correct that the "Reference Library" does not display tabs, however, the interest covered in this topic is not Tabs but rather how the order of Reference Library content is displayed.  The best practice shared above is an effective method of re-ordering the displayed files names.

There is also an alternative technique actually used by e-Sword. In e-Sword ver 13 goto Options, Resource Settings (Options), Reference Books, examine the "Books" listed.  All the reference modules I've downloaded from e-Sword are listed in Reference Books according to their Module Title rather than actual filename.  Indeed you can use Tab Renamer to change the Module Title and change the sort order.

My post is a help request from those knowledgeable in the use of DB Browser for SqLite.

Thanks for your interest and input!

Hank
