Hi. I have recently become a daily user of e Sword and am a big fan of this site -  The resources that are here are truly awesome. But I have been looking for a simple verse/topic reference of some kind and not been able to find anything like that. This resource would just be a list (maybe a few dozen, or possibly even hundreds) of popular bible verses (and/or topics) with a link to take you to the right place in the bible. I think this could be a useful thing for anyone that is new to bible reading, or maybe has trouble with memorization.

Yes, I know you can build your own verse lists in e sword, but this would not be the same thing. It would be more similar to the types of quick verse references that you can find in just about any printed bible: find what you're looking for, click, done.

Is there such a thing here somewhere ? Would someone be interested in creating it ? I may even try to build it myself some time if I get some time to dig into module building a bit.

Thanks in advance for any info.

There are "verse list" modules for the PC version of e-Sword.

The module must be placed in the C:\Users\??\Documents\e-Sword folder.

The verse list is not connected with any translation.

Click on the Bible near file and Commentary and  "verse list".

Thank you. I know about the verses lists and even how to create them. I am looking for something with a little more depth and flexibility than that, but not as elaborate as a total study on the entire bible that could be hundreds of pages long, if that makes any sense. :)

Just a note to help you further.

With regard to the Verse List, the e-Sword User's Guide has a full chapter dedicated to it (see Chapter 5), which takes you through creating, editing, and maintaining the Verse List. To access the User's Guide, simply press F1 on your Keyboard, or click on Contents in the Help menu.

Trust you will find this helpful/

Thanks again !  I do get this, but maybe I just don't like the way it's formatted - which is pretty slim.

Perhaps a demo of what I'm thinking about:

Scripture QUICK REF LIST Demo
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Sermon On The Mount / Beatitudes:    Mat_5:1
The 10 Commandments:  Exo_20:1
The Great Commandment:  Mat_22:37  , Deu_6:5
The Lord's Prayer: Luk_11:2
About Spiritual Gifts: 1Co_12:28

etc

etc

etc

I have created my own personal list and posted it here:

http://www.biblesupp...reference-list/

It isn't very big (and I'm going to try to keep it from getting too big), but will be expanded as time permits.

Hi dogfish,

I think this is an interesting suggestions. I think it could be built into a Topics module. Then when you want to reference it you just go to that topic, find your category and click the verses below it. I am going to be giving training session to e-Sword users at my church sometime in the next few months. I think I'll use your idea to show them how to build a module. The link you posted in your last reply doesn't work. Could you please just e-mail me your list? I'll start looking through my hard copy Bibles for other lists as well.

Cool! Yeah, I'm not sure why the link doesn't work - the whole process of uploading here is new to me. I'd be happy to send you the list I have so far. Thanks for your interest.
