How may I combine all my assorted user files, of the same type, I have unwarily created over the years? I have a few of each of these type files: Bookmarks.lstx, common.anlx, journal.jnlx, topic.topx files, among others, still. I have kept them all, so far. But, how do I make them all available at all times to my E-Sword? This is a windows 13.0.0 version.

It has taken me years to get to this point to have time to be able to combine them, if possible - or, at the least, to make them readily usable and find out what I have in them all (if, again, possible). With the Topic.topx files I have numbered a few and they show up at the bottom of the Topics window and I can switch between them. But, I would like to combine them into one Topic.topx file, would be significantly better, I'd expect.

The other question i just thought of is how do the program and the files stay in touch - how do you specify where they are to be looked for? And, where's the usual spot for them to reside?

Topic files can also be read in the e-Sword Reference Library with the numbered list of topics to left of the the actual topic text instead of the topics editor.

As for combining the files e-Sword ToolTip NT does have an option for combining files but it does not support some of the file types you list. The easiest method might to use Tooltip NT to create the a topic file and then copy and paste the content of your files into the topic file. 

As for where files are stored, there are two answers.

When e-Sword first installs on your PC it installs two folders one is located in the Program Files (x86) folder and the other is located in your Documents folder, both folders are labeled e-Sword The e-Sword folder installed in your Program Files (x86) folder is the location for both e-Sword's program files and any modules you download to use with e-Sword. The folder installed in your documents folder contains your Study, Journal and Topic notes that you create using the editors within e-Sword. This folder also contains any mark files you created which have the extension .ovlx

Another point to add, is that the default locations of both resources and personal files for e-Sword can be changed. The beaut thing about this, is that you can have both resources and your files where you would like them, and which would benefit you the most.

So, with that bit of information, the one thing you can know is that you don't have to go merely with the usual e-Sword defaults, and so change them.

By the way, you can even have your resource files on the cloud. This particularly comes in handy if you have another mobile device, such as a laptop, and so have then synced between your Windows devices.
