Hi All Surveyors of Christ!

I only this morning opened esword to do a word search. The basic search button didnt open at all, although the extended search function did but, when I did do the search the below results were returned?

You can see all of the additional, what seems to be code? Along with brackets at the beginning and end of the scripture verse.

Can anyone help or have experience retifying this problem?

Appreciate any possible solutions to both problems of the basic search not appearing and the reason or removal of this code.

Mat_6:25  (NKJV)  {\cf6 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?}

Mat_7:14  (NKJV)  {\cf6 Because narrow {\cf15\i is} the gate and difficult {\cf15\i is} the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.}

Mat_10:39  (NKJV)  {\cf6 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.}

The code is RTF this module is a BBLX modules made for e-Sword 10 and e-Sword 11 only (not BBLI for Apple/HTM based versions as e-Sword X, e-Sword HD and e-Sword LT)

\cf6 means red in the e-Sword 10

\cf15 means grey in e-Sword 10

1) Did you change the BBLX extension into BBLI? If yes, change it back to BBLX

2) Do you use e-Sword 10 and e-Sword 11 on a Windows version? If not then need you know the password and remove it and then update it with the Apple version (BBX files are not compatible with the Apple versions)

3) Did you change the version number with DB Browser for Sqlite? It is version 2 for the e-Sword 10 and e-Sword 11 versions

Open database, Browse data tab, select Details(by table Bible).

What version of e-Sword and OS(Windows version, Apple) do you use?

Hi Katoog

Thanks for your reply

1) Did you change the BBLX extension into BBLI? If yes, change it back to BBLX - No changes made, this a BBLX extension

2) Do you use e-Sword 10 and e-Sword 11 on a Windows version? If not then need you know the password and remove it and then update it with the Apple version (BBX files are not compatible with the Apple versions) - Yes, use Windows 7

3) Did you change the version number with DB Browser for Sqlite? It is version 2 for the e-Sword 10 and e-Sword 11 versions - Not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean esword version or which data base are you referring?

Open database, Browse data tab, select Details(by table Bible).

What version of e-Sword and OS(Windows version, Apple) do you use? - Use the latest version of esword 11 and win 7

Thanks for your help

Hi JPG

Thanks for weighing in.

Gave this a try although problem still exists.

Also tried re-downloading Esword 11.06 and selected "repair" option when reinstalling, no good also.

As mentioned the basic search window does not even show when selected to do a search.

The Extended search box shows although reveals all of the codes as mentioned also.

So no fix so far...any further ideas or suggestions as to why and or how this can be fixed?

Thanks again for attempting to help...

Hi All

Fixed, one of the other posts managed to fix this problem

Thanks for help everyone, I have attached the solution below following from another post!

http://www.biblesupp...-search-window/

Hi Roy,

I tested what you did, and I could see exactly how this was done. However, in my case, the Search Window didn't "hide" behind the Task Bar, and although it was still on top if it, I could not drag it back up. With that said, what I did find, is that when I placed the mouse pointer on the edge of the Title Bar (the top edge of the Search Window) the mouse pointer changed to a vertical resize arrow, and then by resizing the Search Window up enough to drag it up, I had no problems then.

Interesting situation that I never encountered before, and now that I know what could happen, I also know that "the fix" is.

Blessings,

i had the same problem with my eSword v8. 'Search' box doesnt come up.

my desktop screen is a 3840x2160 4k monitor.

but i was able to resolve similar to above advice. close the e-sword program. change display settings to 800x600, then accept. open e-sword. then close it.

and then reverting it back to 3840x2160. then open e-sword again, and click search button, and there it shows itself !

hope that helps. L

If you have a duel monitor setup, it is possible for the search box to display on the second monitor, that might be turned off at the moment.

This just happened to me.

I had this issue recently. I tried un-installing and re-installing but the problem persisted.

At the end, I un-installed the program and deleted the system folder with the configuration files which was still there after the program removal.

Here is the location of the folder.

C:\Users\ID\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)

Please notice that AppData is a system hidden folder. you need to go to the file explorer options and uncheck the options that hide system and hidden folders.
The ID (in the folder path) should be your user name on your computer. in that folder you will see an E-sword folder. Delete the whole folder.

After that you install a fresh E-sword and it is good. At least for me this was the process.

Blessings.
