This is a small section of an 1895 Combination Pictorial Family Bible that gives an introduction and history of the books of the Bible. Each Book is nicely illustration with graphics from that day and age. In the 19th and early 20th century before the age of television, fancy electronics and the internet, the popular Pictorial Family Bible often included many additional resources in the one big volume, such as this little history and introduction to the Books of the Bible. In those days gone by, such a Bible was the equivalent of a home library for many people, and was usually amply illustrated for adults and children alike. This Bible, about four inches think, was made up of roughly half additional study material in addition to the Bible Books. This is an interesting history.
