So I stumbled across http://www.e-sword.net/mac today! There is finally hope of a native app for my macbook. The App Store link is not yet active, but it looks like they are well on their way to a full blown e-Sword for Mac. Thoughts: Send support and Prayer to Richard Meyers!

Sorry to have to say that its currently not available for download on iTunes in New Zealand. So for any Kiwis wanting this on their Macs just wont be able to get it.

If it is available to other countries outside of the US, I don't know. Might be worth while to hear from members in other countries.

Blessings,

Is it possible to install modules (manually) directly from my PC version by copying them to the correct location on a Mac running the new e-Sword for Mac? Has anyone done this yet?

The file format is the same as for the iPad/iPhone. If you have one of those, you can copy directly from them to the Mac. The directory where the files are kept is hidden: Library\Containers\net.e-sword.e-Sword-X\Data\Library\Application Support\

To get there, you must hold Option key down while clicking on the "Go" menu.

My first reaction to this is, I am delighted that there is now a Mac version. My second reaction is; I wish there was a way to close some of the windows and only call them up when needed. The interface seems cluttered. Sometimes in studying, I only need a Bible.

But, it is fast!

Some day I'd love to see connections to DropBox, or some outside cloud system for saving/sharing notes, studies, etc.

Overall, though. Glad to have it. Worth the money. Rick deserves the return for all the work he has put in.

OK, I have downloaded e-Sword X onto my Mac. I currently am using CrossOver to run e-Sword on my Mac. I tried downloading the Apple Converter on the -e-Sword site, but it said I had an older version, which I don't. i tried downloading and installing through CrossOver, but all it did was install another version of e-Sword.

So, is there a way I can download modules from here (BibleSupport.com) and put them on e-Sword X? Or, is there a way to tranfer them from my current e-Sword/CrossOver setup?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

To answer your question, not directly no. The Windows version of the resource is different.

I am guessing that you could use the version of a resource made for the iPad, but you would have to try it to find out (I don't have an Intel MAC).

The converter installer would not have installed e-Sword itself. My guess is you ran the wrong application.

The installer is named convert.exe and is found here http://www.e-sword.n...les/convert.exe.

Hope this helps.

Roy,

I got the converter installed into the e-sword bottle. Now I am at a loss of how to actually transfer them. It says to place the modules in the app's sandbox. I have no clue as to how to find the modules on my computer. I've tried, I don't see them...but maybe I am missing something or doing something wrong. And I presume by the app's sandbox that refers to the Applications folder on my Mac at the bottom of my screen.

Chris,,

There is a post just a little way up on this page by Jeepster, That says the files are in a hidden folder, and explains how to access them. Have you seen that post?

If I had an Intel Mac I would look myself, but I have to rely on others to explain how to find/access the folder.

Hope this helps a little more.

God bless you in your endeavor.
