I have an odd problem - I have used esword for years but this one stumps me. I have 19 bblx files in my program files\esword directory but esword is showing 40 bibles. The program files\esword directory is the directory listed in Resource Options.

Yes, I have checked to make sure I am viewing hidden files in the esword directory and there are no hidden files or directories.

I have the extra 21 bblx files on my computer in a backup directory. I have moved the backup directory to several different locations and esword still shows all 40 bibles regardless of where these files are on my hard drive.

Does anyone have an answer to this issue? I am sure it is something simple I am overlooking.

Thanks,

Richard.

What version of Windows are you running?

Win7 (maybe xp? don't know abt Win8) has a feature called virtualStore. If an app tries to write to a folder, and you don't have permission to do so, to keep from bombing, windows will write to a virtual directory. C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\virtualstore\Program Files (x86)\e-sword.

In this case e-sword "thinks" it is writting to the real directory. The app see's the files as being in the real directory, and every thing functions. To keep Windows from doing this, you need to either run the app (in this cae the module installer) as administrator, -or- change permissions on the e-sword directory to Full Control.

Think this may be your issue?

For more info on this just do a Google search on "VirtualStore".
