I have been given a Bible translation text for conversion to e-Sword. It is heavily footnoted (the footnotes will be an accompanying cmtx file). I know that opening it in T4 will remove all evidence of footnotes (at least it did with the last file I uploaded here). So, is there a quick and easy way to still have the superscript numbers in the text without manually typing in each one? Let me make sure I am clear here: I will be removing the footnote information (the content of the footnotes) from the document, but I still want the footnote numbers to appear in the text. Is there an easy way to do that?

hi
Can you upload a file to play around with?
Have you tried open in word then copy to T3 - I have tried that and it showed me the extra references and kept the super script. then I copied to T4 for better editing. I know that this process I do is long but for me it works.
Others will give more advise.

thanks

I guess the clearest way to ask this question is this:

Can I convert the footnotes that appear within the text to non-footnoted superscript numbers? Basically just make them regular superscript numbers within the text instead of ones linked to footnotes?

Open in MS Word. Click CTRL-SHIFT-F9 to remove the links. That leaves the superscript numbers behind with no links.

For some reason, it is not working. I've highlighted the entire document, hit ctrl-shift-F9, and the superscripted numbers are still linked to footnotes. If I delete the footnotes themselves, the in-text numbers remain, but they are still linked, even after hitting crtl-shift-F9. Below is a portion of the files in question.

I tried saving it as an rtf and opening in T4, but as I stated earlier, it just deleted all the footnotes and the in-text numbers.

Hi Brad,

Try open the file in T3 this will show the links so you can delete them.
what Josh showed does work. I use it. also try T4 v11 I believe that BH added a way to remove hyper links.

thanks
