As for the other images and maps, I'm sure the people who put modules up have good intentions. But that doesn't excuse infringing copyright, and I've checked a lot of the sources of these images and maps and they are copyrighted. I can't speak for the other modules. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if jonathon is right: "Percentage-wise, map/graphic resources are under-representated recipients of cease and desist notices"
