This may have been answered before, but if so I couldn't figure out what search terms to use here. Is there a way to dock the results of the search? It doesn't seem to be possible to move back and forth between the search results and the main screen, so if I want to look up something from the search results in its original context, I have to close the search results and then do the search all over again.
This seems awfully unwieldy and I feel like surely I must be missing something.
can search results be docked?

Near the search button, which looks like a pair of binoculars, a little to the right, there is a pop-up menu. If you perform a search and then click "OK," then all of the verses that were in the search result will be found in this menu, so you can easily switch between the results.
I hope this helps.

Nice response, but doesn't actually answer the question, which was:
Is there a way to dock the results of the search?
Of which the actual answer is, No, because its a floating Dialog window. And floating windows/dialogs cannot be docked in e-Sword.
The only windows that are dockable are:
- Bible Books
- Bibles
- Dictionaries
- Editors
- Commentaries
All other Dialogs/Windows are floatable.
One other thing, floatable windows, i.e., Search Dialogs, Reference Books, etc, can be individually resized. As where with dockable windows, they cannot be individually resized. Moreover, if you have a second or third Monitor, you can move the floatable window/dialog over to the other Monitor.
Trust you find this information helpful.
Blessings,

The results of a search can certainly be provided in a file, which can be docked in the user's personal Document\e-Sword File folder where he keeps his e-Sword files. A practical example has been written in response. I will try to attach it here.
The previous file has been deleted, and a revision has been provided, updated 2023-08-08. I used the new Font, Aptos, and provided the text in a font size that is easy to read.

Now, I'm sort of getting a bit confused.
So what do you guys mean by "dock" when it comes to the search results or whatever?
From a Programmer's perspective, something which is docked, is like the different windows you see in the main e-Sword interface, of which it cannot be moved, minimized, maximized, or resized. That is Docked.
So, a bit of clarification might just help me in understanding what you guys are talking about.

I assumed that OP's 'dock' meant Search tab was accessible while browsing in the Bible tab, or switching between Search tab and Bible tab; thus, my response.
Olaf Bacon provides a method of 'dock' by accessing a permanent list of verses which is accessible while browsing the Bible, Compare or Parallel tabs.

!!! Yes, I was missing this; thank you!
APsit is right that this doesn't technically answer the question I asked (and it would still be nice if this were dockable, as it provides a little context so we know which verses we're about to jump to for the larger context, but this is definitely an improvement over having to redo the search for every verse.

That's what I meant. It would be useful, IMO, if the search box could be made into one of the dockable window tiles in the interface. But several of the replies do answer the question-behind-the-question, which was how to access the results of the search without having to redo it over and over.
