#44387 How to start the program to the Compare tab always?

Posted by Katoog on 02 May 2023 - 09:58 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

The order of the Bibles in "Compare" is the same as the tabs but you can hide Bibles with Bible menu "Bible compare settings" but it is better.
Change the name of the Bible modules except the default modules (KJV, KJV+ and Strong, TSK)) by adding numbers before the file name.
for example.
001__first Bible.bbli
002__second Bible.bbli

It was easier with e-Sword Library Manager but that program needs to updated for the new modules.
http://www.biblesupp...0#commentsStart
So I ask someone with programing skills to update the program.

#44393 Fonts Needed for E-Sword to Properly Disply

Posted by Katoog on 03 May 2023 - 10:39 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Tahoma, Times New Roman and Arial have the biggest character sets.

I use Tahoma as default and editor Font.
Galatia SIL for Greek, Ezra SIL for Hebrew and Doulos SIL for Latin.

#44399 Ancient Hebrew / Proto-Canaanite pictograms

Posted by Katoog on 04 May 2023 - 11:17 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

If you prefer Proto-Sinaitic script then select a Proto-Sinaitic for Hebrew fonts.

By options Font settings

https://www.biblepla...o_hebrew_fonts/

It is not Proto-Canaanite because they did not invented the Alphabet.

Rather the Hebrews and at last Moses himself to write the Torah in Hebrew

#44404 Esword Will Not Open

Posted by Katoog on 05 May 2023 - 04:36 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Your laptop is more recent than my laptop. So that is not the problem.

For the 13.00 version needs you Windows Media Player from Microsoft to be installed.

This is in the Microsoft app store on your computer.

Look if Media Player is installed. If not; install it.

Use Ccleaner portable to clean registry and do a health check.

To clean your computer of conflicting old installs

https://www.ccleaner...ccleaner/builds

https://e-sword.net/

Then install again the 13.00 edition from the download in https://e-sword.net/

By the way: I speak also Dutch/Nederlands.

#44650 question about searching all e-sword resources

Posted by Katoog on 28 June 2023 - 10:39 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

If you use the PC version of e-Sword:

For the first question: click on the Bible or Commentary menu and "extended search"

With the Books icon can you select all

For the "hell" search need you also search for Sheol, Hades, Gehenna and Tartarus

I have no hell in my translation because I use Sheol(Hades), Gehenna and Tartarus instead.

The Hebrew Sheol and Greek Hades means underworld or realm of death.

The Greek word Gehenna is a fire place to burn human trash.

The Greek word Tartarus is only used in 2Pe 2:4

For the second question: commentaries that have the verse are marked with a blue info icon. (If v for verse is selected)

#44659 Why the Grey? Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers

Posted by Katoog on 01 July 2023 - 08:14 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Greek NT INT+ is based on the ν = ΝΑ28 [=UBS5] text.

By textual variants for example spelling variants of  "David" is the dark grey based on other sources.

α = Alexandrian [= UBS3/UBS4/NA26/NA27]
τ = Stephens 1550 Textus Receptus
σ = Scrivener 1894 Textus Receptus
β = Byzantine Majority

So ν = ΝΑ28 [=UBS5] text is never dark grey.

#44662 Why the Grey? Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers

Posted by Katoog on 01 July 2023 - 12:50 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I'm fully aware of theomatics (God's mathematics) and that the "heptadic meter" (x7 or base 7) used by Panin not the only meter used in the Bible
I support x7,x10,x12,x17,x22,x23,x32,x40,x70 meters and testing x6,x8,x11,x18,x37 and x73 meters.

Psalm 119 has 176 verses based on 8x22 Hebrew letters as first letter of the verse.
Genesis 1 has 6 times "And it was evening and it was morning" * day as repetition.

The "Beatitudes" of Matthew Mat 5:3-12 has 9 times the word "μακαριοι"(Blessed) as first word of the verse or statement.
Or 10 times "μακαριοι" in Matthew including Mat 13:16 .

So the "heptadic meter" is not the only meter.

And the "Bible code" is "ELS" that is not used as checksum.

The Greek source of Palin is an edit based on the Westcott and Hort with textual variants in the margin while supporting Asaph instead of Asa in Mat 1:7-8
And Amos instead of Amon in Mat 1:10 in his Greek text.

Those are not spelling variants but the wrong names.

#44666 e-sword v13.0.0 won't open

Posted by Katoog on 02 July 2023 - 10:27 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I also have windows pro 10 and esword 13 would not open, I had to download an older version to make it work again. I tried everything, I think it had something to do with windows pro 10.

#44687 HD or iPad Modules to PC

Posted by Katoog on 11 July 2023 - 09:07 AM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

All the newer editions of e-Sword for PC supporting more the newer apple modules than the old format modules with a X.

So if you use e-Sword edition 11 until e-Sword 13 is there no reason to convert TOPI to TOPX.

#44729 Typo in Gen.1:11 KJV?

Posted by Katoog on 21 July 2023 - 10:50 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Not a typo but a correction done by the publisher of your KJV edition.

The KJV 1611 has "after his kinde" and the KJV 1769 has "after his kind" 12 times in 7 verses in Genesis

Gen_1:11; Gen_1:12; Gen_1:21; Gen_1:24; Gen_1:25; Gen_6:20; Gen_7:14.

One of the corrections in the Webster Bible was "after its kind"

The inaccuracies in grammar, such as which for who, his for its, shall for will, should for would, and others, are very numerous in the present version.

#44748 Typo in Gen.1:11 KJV?

Posted by Katoog on 24 July 2023 - 11:35 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

biblegateway.com has 2 official editions of the KJV: (not counting the KJ21 and Webster).

1) KJV based on the the 1987 printing that is in verse per line format. (KJV)
But lacks italics. I think that it is an Oxford edition.

2) Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) in paragraph format and poetic layout
by the Cambridge University Press.

Both editions using British spelling.
Some differences between both editions in biblegateway.com:

Gen 16:6 thine hand (KJV)
Gen 16:6 thy hand (AKJV)

#44980 bblx files

Posted by Katoog on 05 September 2023 - 03:29 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

You don't need to install bblx files in Win 10

All what you need to do is place it in the e-Sword folder.

The default folder for Win 10 (x64) is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

for Win 10 (32x)

C:\Program Files\e-Sword
