#37084 windows 10

Posted by Katoog on 15 December 2019 - 12:14 AM

You need e-Sword for Windows (the last version is 12.1.0)

https://e-sword.net/downloads.html

Install e-Sword

Be sure that your Internet browser allow scripts to download the module from this website to the download folder of windows 10.

Do you know where the download folder is of Windows 10?

Or where the modules are on this website?

If the module is a zip file: then unzip it and place the module in

C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

If the module is an exe file then need you to left double click to install the module.

Modules made for e-Sword 7 or e-Sword 8 are not working on other e-Sword editions.

#36907 How can I add "compare options" for compare Bible tab?

e-Sword 11 and 12 ((for Windows) using the same Apple format of modules.

I use "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8" and you can download the set-up exe with the program "Patch My PC updater"  & by plugins & Runtimes

https://patchmypc.co...pdater-download

The .NET file is  C:\PatchPC\PatchMyPCUpdates folder.

Because you have .Net 3.5.1 for the moment can this be a problem for the program.

Patch My PC updater

What Are The System Requirements?

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
  • Internet access
  • For Windows XP, you can download a legacy support version that uses Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 here: https://patchmypc.co...gacySupport.exe
    • Note: The legacy version doesn’t receive updates for newer versions of Patch My PC.

e-Sword version 12.0 change log

New Low Light display setting to make viewing the text easier on your eyes.
New App Themes to further customize the e-Sword interface to your liking.
Hundreds of refinements throughout the app, including a rebuilt STEP Reader, improved Resource Options dialog and bulk printing/copying of Journal Notes in date ranges.
__

First immersion after an update:
the problem with the (Greek NT INT+) module is fixed by using five words in a row.

The tap separation for the Bibles is now highlighted and smaller and framed (so the problem with many tabs and some are gone is fixed).

The Peshitta module(right to left script) has a problem with seeing the whole Bible verse number (for example Mar 15 has Mar 1 for Mar 15:1, Mar 15 for Mar 15:2)

e-Sword version 12.0 is less compatible than e-Sword 11 for searching with old BBLX modules in Greek and Hebrew.
I recommend that we in Biblesupport uploading modules in Apple format as default and older e-Sword 9 or 10 modules as extra.
Because the older module format is less and less supported.

The grapheme æ of Cæsar for "King James Bible: Pure Cambridge Edition" from Matthew Verschuur (KJB:PCE) is now searchable: if you convert it into a BBLI module.
Also is the real apostrophe in Cæsar’s is now searchable. See Mat 22:21

#35941 Paleo-Hebrew (Middle Script) Existence?

Posted by Katoog on 22 May 2019 - 10:08 AM

Does this Hebrew script exist only in fragments of some of the caves of the Deep Sea Scrolls?
Yes, only fragments and has paleo in the name of the manuscript.
"1Q" means "cave 1".
1QpaleoLev, 2QpaleoLev,4QpaleoGen-Exodl, 4QpaleoGenm, 4QpaleoGen-Exodl,...

I am thinking even if you have a Paleo translation in a complete Bbile only some of the books come from original paleo-Hebrew?
There is no complete Bible in Paleo-Hebrew available because of the old age and bad preservation of manuscripts.
But you can always change to Paleo-Hebrew font
By installing Paleo-Hebrew font to windows and change font in e-Sword.
https://www.biblepla...o_hebrew_fonts/

I am thinking even if you have a Paleo translation in a complete Bbile only some of the books come from original paleo-Hebrew?
Paleo translation? To change unpointed Hebrew square script into Paleo-Hebrew script need you only a Paleo-Hebrew font.

The first alphabet was the "Proto-Sinaitic script" made in the time of Exodus at least by Moses himself when he rewrote the Ten Commandments or wrote the "Covenant Code".

The paleo-Hebrew script is made in the same time as the Phoenician Alphabet that use the same 22 letters as the Hebrew Alphabet (the shape is different).
So the paleo-Hebrew and the Phoenician alphabet are interchangeable.

And are both a simplified version of Proto-Sinaitic script.
David and Salmon have a good trade-relation with Hiram king of Tyre. 2Sa 5:11 1Ki 5:1

At the deportation to Babylon and Ezra started the Jews by with Aramaic Script that became a square script.

Perhaps the books other than found in the Deep Sea Scrolls are just rewritten usiing the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet?
The books by Dead Sea Scrolls are in Paleo-Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, square script Hebrew and Latin.
https://www.deadseas...ore-the-archive

In that case the other books of the Bible even if written in Paleo would only date to the Masonetic translation copied. Correct?
The Masoretic Text stream is made by the Masoretes between the 7th and 10th centuries AD.
They are copies of copies of copies... with pointing added (vowel pointing and other accents and paragraph marks).
It is not a "translation" but rather a restoration of the original text with improvements.

#35429 Hebrew OT with vowel pointing for e-Sword LT?

Posted by Katoog on 25 February 2019 - 01:16 PM

It's almost impossible to read the Hebrew texts without the vowel pointing unless you're extremely fluent in the language, which means the desktop version is almost useless for aspiring Hebrew language students unless they go offsite, and the mobile app isn't useful unless you could somehow get third-party modules which as far as I can see isn't possible, is it? Please let me know if I can help in any way, and if someone is able to get a Tanach with the nikkudot available for the app in the next couple weeks

This Website is made for offline third party modules.

Copy files from your computer to your iOS app https://support.appl.../en-us/HT201301

And I should rather buy e-Sword HD for the iPad in a class.

#35428 Hebrew OT with vowel pointing for e-Sword LT?

Posted by Katoog on 25 February 2019 - 12:54 PM

If you convert the "Hebrew Study Bible" into Apple modules then have you Hebrew Bible modules with vowel pointing (nikkudot) based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex.

http://www.biblesupp...ransliteration/

The Apple converter

https://e-sword.net/extras.html

Or use the Hebrew modules of Eliran Wong based on the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, Fifth Revised Edition

http://www.biblesupp...os-ipad-iphone/

___

I like it rather without pointing as the Originals and because e-Sword lacks a way for searching without accents or pointing.

#35248 Where went that left side bar for Editors, Bibles, etc. ?

Posted by Katoog on 01 February 2019 - 09:47 AM

Those windows are usual by the Biblebooks if you has moved the windows.

Or on the sides of the screen.

The most easy way to restore the windows is: set it back to default.

Click on help above and "Reset e-Sword Settings".

#34129 Greek Dictionary

Posted by Katoog on 19 July 2018 - 10:27 AM

λαμεχ is Lamech (see Luk 3:36) but the problem is a capital letter and an accent: Λάμεχ  in most lexicons and books.

The only lexicon here that can read Greek words without accents and caps is GRVi.dcti

Greek New Testament with Variants (interlinear) from Eliran Wong

http://www.biblesupp...to-lsju-mounce/

You can activate the GRVi.dcti lexicon by selecting and click a Greek word if the text lacks caps and accents.

#33642 Can you do Bible topic research with E-Sword

Posted by Katoog on 25 May 2018 - 12:06 PM

The topic of Salvation (Soteriology) is very controversial:
See the acronyms DAISY, ROSES and TULIP or anything between in the discussions about it.

Method 1: Look to the verses that contain those Strong numbers and use a literal translation:
For example search with the KJV+ to those Strong numbers for a list move to the verse number to see the tooltip popup.
Go to options and Scripture Tooltip select then (Active Translation) then can you see the Tooltip popup of your favorite translation that is selected in the Bible-taps.
