See Attached. Sorry but I am still trying to understand the GNT versions and marker formats. In the GNT INT+ screenshot of Mat 7:2, there is a red marker just above G488 antimetreō.

1. Assume this marker applies to text that follows?

2. Does it mean that the text that follows in the gray background are in the text of nu- alpha-B (NA28, SBL, Byz Majority)? Are these non-NA28 variants?

3. And at the end there is another red marker τσ. Assume that refers to the text above? Refers to the TR?

4. Are the GNT INT+ and the GRVi both using the SBL text as the base?

Sorry but I am thoroughly confused but trying to learn.

Lew

Hi,

  Please see attached photo.  The module is intended to be displayed in traditional interlinear, but obviously PC version of e-Sword doesn't support it.

  The official e-Sword module sourced from my module, http://www.biblesupp...ndroid-mysword/

  , where I put information on variant markers.

Markers for Variants:

  • ν = ΝΑ28 [=UBS5]
  • α = Alexandrian [= UBS3/UBS4/NA26/NA27]
  • τ = Stephens 1550 Textus Receptus.
  • σ = Scrivener 1894 Textus Receptus
  • β = Byzantine Majority

  Answering your question (in Mark 7:2):

  - μετρηθησεται

variant markers are ναβ

i.e. it is a variant in NA28, NA27/NA26/UBS3/UBS4, & Byzantine Majority

  - αντιμετρηθησεται

variant markers are τσ

i.e. it is a variant in 1550 and 1894 Textus Receptus

Hope this help.

Blessings,

Eliran Wong

oh, sorry, just noticed I had mistakenly taken Mar 7:2 as an example above, rather than Mat 7:2.  but the principle is the same.

1) The dark marker are for variants that NOT agree with NA28/UBS5 or ν.

MARKERS FOR VARIANTS

ν = ΝΑ28 [=UBS5]

α = Alexandrian [= UBS3/UBS4/NA26/NA27]

τ = Stephens 1550 Textus Receptus

σ = Scrivener 1894 Textus Receptus

β = Byzantine Majority

Mat 7:2  εν ω γαρ κριματι κρινετε κριθησεσθε και εν ω μετρω μετρειτε αντιμετρηθησεται υμιν (TR versions and also in Luk 6:38)

Mat 7:2  εν ω γαρ κριματι κρινετε κριθησεσθε και εν ω μετρω μετρειτε μετρηθησεται υμιν (NA28, Alexandrian, Byzantine Majority)

αντιμετρηθησεται (shall be massured back OR shall be massured again OR shall be back-massured)

μετρηθησεται (shall be massured)

3) Yes, τσ means for the TR versions

τ = Stephens 1550 Textus Receptus
σ = Scrivener 1894 Textus Receptus

4 )No, but SBL that was edited by Michael W. Holmes for LOGOS software follow mostly α = Alexandrian and used WH as start base and compared with the Alexadrian NIV source, Tregress,  RP 2005(99% Byzantine Majority) and the TR

Two counter examples: (the SBL follows always the first variant in his apparatus).

2 Timothy 2:14

κυρίου RP ] θεοῦ WH Treg NA28

Lord Vs God

Revelation 20:6

χίλια RP ] τὰ χίλια WH Treg NA28

thousand Vs the thousand

Thank you very much Eliran and Katoog. Believe I now understand. I was more confused because of the way the the interlinear displays (inline) on my computer.

Just one more question. If the GNT INT+ and GRVi 4.2 are not based on the text of the SBL what base text is being used?

Thank you again

GNT INT+ and GRVi 4.2 are based on NA28 (Nestle Aland edition 28 of 2013) or UBS5 (United Bible Societies edition 5 of 2014) made by the same editors.

1 Peter 1:6

λυπηθενταςν [λυπηθεντες]ατσβ

λυπηθέντες (TR, Byz, NA27, BIB,...)

λυπηθεντας (NA28/UBS5)

2 Peter 3:10

ουκν ευρεθησεταινα [κατακαησεται]τσβ

κατακαήσεται (it shall be burned up) TR, Byz, ABP, Alford

εὑρεθήσεται (shall be found) WH Treg NA27

οὐχ εὑρεθήσεται(shall NOT be found) NA28/UBS5 only OR [οὐχ] εὑρεθήσεται  in Berean Interlinear Bible(BIB)

I would like to clarify that both GNT INT+ and GRVi 4.2 were not originally based on NA28.  I added all NA28 variants (without accents and punctuation) manually upon the original GRV theWord module, and developed this GNT INT and GRVi.

I think the original GRV module probably sourced from http://greekcntr.org, this website did amazing work on textual variants, visually.

you may see comparison on Mat 7:2 at http://greek-languag...0107.htm#010702

my website https://biblebento.com has every NT verse linked to this website for textual comparison.
