I am just beginning with e-Sword and e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT.  This may a really silly question, but the section, "Creating a Bible Module" in the ToolTip NT help seems to imply I can create and try out a bible module with just a single first chapter of Genesis.  I followed the steps and built the .bblx.  I was able to open the .bblx with SQLite Manager and saw what I had entered.  I am on windows 7 so the folder where downloaded bibles are placed is at:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

I copied the .bblx there, opened e-Sword, but it was not seen.  I also tried copying it directly to C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword (where the bibles that come with e-Sword are stored) and it made no difference.  As a last resort I tried copying it to the User Files Location with the same result.

So either I am doing something wrong creating the .bblx, or it doesn't work to start out with just one chapter, or I am not copying the .bblx to the correct location, or something else I can't even imagine.

Can anyone give me any hint of what I need to be looking at to figure this out?

Thanks in advance

You need to have the e-sword module installer installed on your computer in order for modules to install correctly. With the installer on your computer all you have to do is double the bblx file and the installer will install the bible module into e-sword. Simply copying the file into the esword folder will not install the module

That location should be fine. Simply copying the .bblx file there is also ok.

Can you post the module somewhere with a link to it so I can take a look if none of the below suggestions work?

You could also try changing the abbreviation. (If you happen to have one that is reserved by e-Sword, used to be an issue)

Check in the e-Sword main menu, Options -> resources, that your module is selected to be visible.

Double check that the module is not in the Bible view and you have missed it (speaking from experience due to the following). It won't necessarily appear in abbreviation order as e-Sword uses the file name order.

Thank you for this suggestion, however the ToolTip NT documentation says all that is needed is to copy the file to the correct location (and if I understand correctly, the same person, Josh Bond, who wrote the module installer also wrote the documentation).

Thank you, I didn't realize there might be reserved abbreviations.  I appearently used one because as soon as I changed it and rebuilt the module it appeared in e-Sword.  I wonder if the list of reserved abbreviations is available anywhere?

click on the download tab of the e-Sword program and look by Bibles ,Commentaries, Dictionaries, Devotions and Graphics

What is the abbreviation of the module?

Look with SQLite Manager in the \e-Sword folder if there are no double modules who are hidden and delete them.
