Does anyone know of a good resource for e-sword on the subject of Atheism? Reason I'm asking is, I know a few folks that I'd like to bring into the fold but I'm looking for commentary from staunch Atheists that converted over to Christianity as this is a much more powerful tool IMO.
Thanks Much!!

Apologetics: That branch of theology which defends the Holy Scriptures, and sets forth the evidence of their divine authority. (Basically why we believe what we believe)
The word translated defense in (1 Peter 3:15) but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;" is ἀπολογία apologia Thayer’s Greek Definitions defines it as 1) verbal defence, speech in defence 2) a reasoned statement or argument.
There are other useful modules, though they are harder to find as they have not had "tags" associated with them.
As for useful web sites: http://carm.org/
and here: http://www.forananswer.org/
This one is more geared to Hermeneutics (the science of interpreting the Bible) but is still full of useful stuff: http://hermeneutics....ermeneutics.htm
There are many many others, but these should give you a good start, and I am certain others here will be happy to recommend a few.
"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

The only relevant material I have, is best described as "Atheism apologetics". Stuff like Richard Dawkin's The God Delusion. (Permission to distribute Dawkin's material in e-Sword format has not been obtained.) I have one or two commentaries written by atheists, but nothing that can be legally distributed.

The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel is a book you might want to take a look at. Lee and his wife were atheists, when his wife became a Christian he used his skills and resources as an investigative reporter to research Christ and Christianity interviewing several experts who were believers and examining their responses as he did testimony in court during the time he was a reporter covering court trials.
It isn't available as an e-Sword module, only in dead tree book form.

I recommended the study of apologetics because i believe that the best way to respond to atheists is to be well grounded in the understanding of hwy we believe what we believe that we can give that defense that 1st Peter 3:15 calls for.

Is there any text out there to be used to make the module?
thanks

If you do a search using the word apologetics in the search window in the upper right hand corner of any window in this site (you might have to scroll up to see it), then select e-sword downloads area you will get several excellent suggestions.

Thanks Much!!........I'll do a search for the apologetics and see what I can find.......As far as the websites go, I use those two sites all the time, both are indeed great resources!
Thanks Again,
Clint

Permission to distribute has not been obtained. I don't know if they are still available in the wild nether regions of the Internet.
Resources on both theologies that use the moniker "Christian Atheism".
- Thomas Altizer: The Gospel of Christian Atheism;
- Craig Groeschell: The Christian Athiest;
The second says that there is a God, but Christians act as if there is no God.
You probably are looking for something like Albert Mohler Atheism Remix: A Christian confronts the New Atheists. AFAIK, that book has not been converted to e-Sword format.
From my POV, material like Annie Besant The Christian Creed, H P Blavatsky The Secret Doctrine, and Helen Schucman A Course in Miracles. would be equally productive to study, for the purpose of refuting atheism. OTOH, a number of churches incorporate teachings and practices that are derived straight out that material, with no changes in either theology or doctrine. (Those three works are PD, and as such can be legally distributed in e-Sword format.)

Not everybody is infatuated by CARM. I am one that is not. Outside of skinhead and neo-nazi sites and others of similar ilk, one would be hard pressed to find a site that is more hate-filled, non-charitible and un-Christ-like. There are other sites from which one can obtain the same information without having to wade through Carm's sewage.

Sorry.

Sorry.
I am not all that infatuated with CARM myself, though I haven't found them particularly hate filled. It does have some good resources available though.
