Hi,

I am not sure if this is because I am running under WINE on the Mac or if this is normal behavior or what, so I thought I would politely ask. :)

I set up an install using "Wineskin Winery" which makes a very nice self-contained application for eSword. I managed to get modules installed and all in all am very very happy with it. At first I was having a few odd quirks with a few features like Extended Search and Analyze Verse, but after following the notes on the WineHQ site as to which things to install via winetricks all of those problems seem to have gone away.

The last thing I am struggling with is that if I am viewing a chapter in the bible window, and am in the middle (i.e. the scroll bar is in the vertical middle of the pane, not at the top or bottom, and I click in the bible window with the mouse the text will "jump" down by some amount. It doesn't matter if I click at the top of the bible pane or at the bottom, it always jumps down on me. However, if the vertical scroll bar is at the top or the bottom then clicking in the window doesn't shift the content at all.

Are there any other WINE users out there? Or is this just normal operation of e-Sword?

Blessings,
-Steve

I use e-Sword under WINE on Linux. I haven't experienced that phenomena.

I have noticed that occasionally the mouse will lock up, and everything freezes. This might be due to a minor bug somewhere in the software chain, or, more likely, a side effect of the number of resources that I have installed.

Drats! :) Well, that gives hope. LoL

For the record, my environment is Wrapper Wineskin 2.5.5 and Engine WS9Wine 1.5.2

Solved! :)

Well, at least fixed. I had installed from the CD/DVD I received when I donated. So I just downloaded the installer from the website, did an uninstall and reinstall and now everything is working fine.

Thanks for letting me know it wasn't normal, that helped a lot!
