I just started using e-Sword.

I have a problem with the search. Whenever I try to search for any words I get no results. Even if I search for common words like "Jesus".

Anybody know how to fix this?

I googled it and somebody else apparantly had the same problem so I guess somebody has heard about it before...

Is this in "extended Bible search",? If so you need to select the translations to search as the default setting for a new install of the program is "none selected". You will see the icon as books at the top of the search dialog....

Thanks for your response :)

Could you please post a screen shot of eSword with the serch window open

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Hello,

So when you click Bible/Search and enter a term, you don't see anything like this?

What operating system are you running?

I am having the same problem with the search. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 under wine. Everything worked great with e-sword 9.xx I also have e-sword 9.72 running under wine on Mint 12 and it is working fine. Any suggestions?

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 under wine.

I didn't test e-Sword under WINE, when I was doing my stress tests. :(
<< More precisely, I didn't test search under WINE. >>

Search is one of the functions of e-Sword that updates can change.
I've been playing with different versions of WINE, to no avail.

Hopefully, the next update of e-Sword fixes the issue.

Thanks for your response, and sorry for my late response :s

Here is a screen shot of the search window when I searched for the word "jesus".

I'm using Windows XP.

Thanks for all your input. I would be very happy if someone knows how to solve this problem.

Best regards,
Andri

Hope this search problem gets solved or a work around is found
