Simple Bible Reader is as the title implies a simple piece of bible software designed to read modules from multiple bible programs including e-Sword, MySword  The Word and others. The programs is more then just a module reader it is also a module conversion utility. The program can convert modules between various  bible software programs which are listed below.

What is the difference between Simple Bible Reader and the e-Sword Module Converter?

While the e-Sword module can convert e-Sword modules from the Windows format to the Apple/Mac/Android format that is all it can do.

Simple Bible Reader on the other hand can convert e-Sword modules to MySword, The Word, MyBible and many more bible programs which are listed below.

Another major difference between the two converters is that unlike the e-Sword converter, Simple Bible Reader can do batch conversions of multiple modules at one  time

Simple Bible Reader can read and convert four basic types of modules: Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries and Books or Topic modules below is complete list of the modules that Simple Bible Reader can read and convert: The program can also be used as it's own bible study tool

Simple Bible Reader can be downloaded from this link:

https://trumpet-call...plebiblereader/

The program downloads ready to run without need of installation on the following versions on Windows:

  • Windows Vista SP2
  • Windows 7 SP1
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11

Current versions of Simple Bible Reader do not support versions of Windows prior to Vista however earlier legacy versions of Simple Bible Reader can be downloaded.

Once you have downloaded and opened the program you will see the Simple Bible Reader main window (see attached image). The main window has a standard windows menu across the top with the following labels: File, Edit, Layout, Settings, Help.

To do a basic module conversion you need to first open the module you want to convert in Simple Bible Reader. To do this you need to click File from the Simple Bible Reader Menu. Clicking this will open the Files drop down menu (see attached image). From this menu you can select which type of module you wish to open and covert, or you select a batch conversion if you need to convert multiple modules.

For this example I opened a bible module in Simple Bible reader as shown in the attached image. To convert this module you will need to click file a second time to open the file drop down menu. This time from the bible select "Export Bible" this will open a "Save As" window where you will name the converted module and select which format to convert it to and the location module will be saved to The Save As window has two dropdown boxes one for the name and one that lists all of the bible modules your module can be converted to (see attached image).

Once you have named the new module and selected which type of module to convert it to, the last step is to click the Save button in the Save As window. Clicking this will start the conversion process. The conversion process is very quick and after it is complete you will find the newly converted module in your chosen location. This process is the same for converting Bibles. Books, Commentaries and Dictionaries

While most module conversions are simple basic conversions, there maybe times when you need perform a special conversions due to the formatting of a module. SBR can be adjusted for the needs by clicking Settings from SBR menu which will open the Settings drop down menu. From this menu select Preferences to open the Preferences options window (see attached image). Note be very careful with Preferences settings for further information consult the SBR users guide at the following link:

https://trumpet-call...der-user-guide/

To perform a batch conversion of multiple modules click File from the SBR menu to open Files drop menu then from the drop menu select "Batch Convert" this will open the batch conversion window (see attached image). All of the modules you wish to batch convert must be in one folder which will be the source folder once you select the source folder for the modules you then must select the location where the converted modules will be saved to, this will be the Target location. You must select the module type for both the Source location files and the Target or converted files in order for the batch conversion to work.

Simple Bible Reader also allows the use of Plugins to better aid module conversion using Simple Bible Reader. The Simple Bible Reader website offers a few plugins but you can create your own plugins for your own special conversions needs. For further information regarding plugins consult the SBR users guide mentioned above.
