Everything I find keeps looping me back to the latest version.  I literally need to use it one more time to get some important Bibles out of there and then I will never need to use it again.  I can't convert any of my Bibles, free or paid, to the newer version because they keep asking for passwords.  Can anyone help?

I don't think there is place to download version 8, You cannot convert paid modules you need to upgrade to the newest version of each module by installing the newest version of e-Sword which is version 13

Re-downloading of purchased modules does not require paying for them again

Silverys I was thinking the same, as I am a software pack rat. Thanks for being willing to share. I do not have a way to upload version 8, but I have the .exe also.

I did not want to sign up to the cloud service you linked to, so I can not see your files. So OP Stellanwick if you want it, and can not get it there for whatever reason, I check in here from time to time (rarely). I could send you the file by private messenger I think. If not perhaps someone else can give me an idea on how to share it.

I would upload it onto biblesupport if I could, but I fear I would be breaking some rule, and bad things would happen. If I am wrong, please let me know someone.

A web source of older versions of e-Sword.exe is found at https://e-sword.informer.com/versions/

Please remember that that would make use of an older version of Microsoft Access database, which may not be available anymore, in the old variety, from Microsoft. You will probably need that also. to be able to open the bbl module, and get the information about the previous modules. Since e-Sword version 9 Rick Meyers decided to use the SQLite database for e-Sword modules.

You may need the proper version of .NET Framework 3.5 to run an app on Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 8. You can also use these instructions for earlier Windows versions that are no longer supported by Microsoft.

Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP since April 8, 2014.

Support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020.

Windows 8 went out of support on January 12, 2016.

Support for Windows 8.1 ended on January 10, 2023.

Microsoft will discontinue support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.

Windows 11 21H2 – support ends 10 October 2023.

Widows 11 22H2 – support ends 8 October 2024. Update before that date.

Windows 11 23H2 – support ends two years after it was released.

Although support ends, the software will continue to function. However, after the support end date, your computer running Windows to that version will no longer receive security updates. In addition, Microsoft customer service will no longer be available to provide Windows technical support for those versions of software. It is preferable that you upgrade with a computer designed for more up-to-date versions of software.
