When I open the search window in e-Sword, the window opens in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, with the taskbar off-screen. I cannot move, maximize, or minimize the search window. Of course, with its taskbar off-screen, I can't use it either. Rebooting doesn't help. Any suggestions on how to restore the search window to usability?

Can you lower the display resolution of Windows and move the search window in the time of lower resolution?

What happen if you click on help and "Reset e-Sword settings"?

Alternative.

Click anywhere in the search window.

Now press and release the  "Alt" and then "spacebar" then "any arrow key once". Now your mouse pointer will be locked to the search window top bar and will follow the mouse pointer.

Test it on a visible search window first to see how it will work.

This worked for me. I have a PC with two monitors. I went to the main one and changed the screen from "Extended" that is one one long monitor to "Duplicate" that is the same thing on both. I clicked the search button and it came up ok.

Either that is the bug or God worked a miracle.
