Hi Tony,
I read your post with much interest, as I too want to understand exactly what the Bible is saying so I can apply it properly to my life, and then teach those that I disciple.

It sounds like you are looking for a Bible in print that contains the Strong's numbering system next to the words as you see in e-Sword. Since you mentioned the words, "like in e-Sword", I think we can assume you know that the Bible/Strong's Concordance bundles are available in e-Sword.) I searched the web as Josh did and did not find anything available. What you are looking for may not be available because the size of the Bible would be doubled or even tripled by the numbering system. You would still need another book just to look up the meanings of the reference numbers.

I suggest that you purchase an inexpensive Exhaustive Concordance. That way you get all the words in the translation, you are using to study, not just the words that appear most often. I recently purchased an inexpensive copy of the NIV Strongest Exhaustive Concordance for a class I am taking in Bible College. I paid $14.95 for it on Amazon.com. It uses a different numbering system than the old Strong’s system; however, it lined up with the NIV well. I know that the NASB also has a printed copy of the New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance available in print (I purchased mine almost 25 years ago and do not know what one of the books would cost today). The Lockman Foundation used the old Strong's number system for the NASEC.

In addition, if you really want to find a study system that will help you understand and apply Scripture to your life, may I recommend, Grasping God's Word by J. Scott Duvall and J. Daniel Hays (Zondervan Press)? I just finished a class on Bible exegesis and this was our textbook. The formatting and wording is not like a textbook and I did not find the book boring. It provides an easy to understand approach for pulling the true meaning of the text from the Bible called the "Interpretive Journey." The steps are so easy to remember that I memorized them on one night.

I hope you find a method of study that works for you and gives you the true meaning of God's Word!

i never even thought of that, having the book printed privately. Will look into it. Its alot of work, but a good idea.

Part of the reason I was suggesting PD texts, was to give you the option of publishing it, if you so choose to do. Hardcopy, eBook, e-Sword, MySword, TheWord, The Sword Project, Laridian, etc. For all but the first two, OSIS markup would be the most useful starting point.

When you say very expensive how expensive?(buying from a seminary shop i mean)

I picked up Greene's NT for around US$20.00 at a used book store.

What I saw at the seminary bookstore was USB3/NA-26 or BHS4 as the base text, most, if not all known textual variants as footnotes, lots of textual apparatus, and one of the more literal recent translations. Cost was around US$50 per volume. I don't know how many volumes were in the set. It looked like one book of the Bible was one volume in the set.

By CBD to you mean christianbook.com?

Yes.
