APsit190's Theological Rants > A Few of My Favorite Things

Posted APsit190 on 09 June 2019 - 06:47 PM

Its been quite a while I put up a blog, and thought it was about time I did one. So I thought about what I liked, and how those things kind of impacted my life in both the way I think and do life.

Now, just to be clear, despite the fact the title of this blog is "A Few of My Favorite Things," is a title of that song from the movie, "Mary Poppins," it rea...

e-Sword World > We Are Blessed

Posted APsit190 on 03 October 2015 - 07:36 PM

As e-Sword users we, perhaps more than any other user of any Bible Software, are totally blessed in ways which can only be described as totally amazing. And to see just how God has been good to us through His grace makes this even more amazing.

OK, so what am I talking about?!

This morning, after the meeting at church, I was talking to a brother about t...

APsit190's Theological Rants > Predestination - What is it Suppose to be About?

Posted APsit190 on 21 July 2014 - 07:08 PM

Predestination. Its a word that is in the New Testament, and its a word that gets bandied about quite a bit, and who and what gets or doesn't get predestined is argued until the cows come home, and then even argued until after the cows have left the next day. The one thing which every theologian seems to agree about, is that it (seems) to have a lot to do...

e-Sword World > Getting the Most Out of e-Sword

Posted APsit190 on 01 April 2014 - 12:58 PM

e-Sword, hmmm, its a program that at first glance doesn't look all that pretty. In fact really plain and bland looking. In fact some may argue its the most boring looking piece of software. Lets be honest about it, it doesn't have the bells and whistles like The Word and other Bible Software. Yet despite that, there would be quite a few million users that...

e-Sword World > Getting e-Sword Out

Posted APsit190 on 04 February 2014 - 09:47 PM

Recently I've been reading on the Message Board about distributing (giving away) e-Sword and it's resources, which I find a very important. I'm one of those who love to give away e-Sword and its resources that I decided to do just more more than plonk stuff on a cd or dvd and give it away. I decided to make what I'm giving to a person as a gift.

For some...

APsit190's Theological Rants > Being Church, Being a Body

Posted APsit190 on 29 December 2013 - 01:45 PM

If you go through the studies series in Ephesians I've posted, the one main theme you will notice is that its all about how god purposed us to be church, to be a body. This being a body   is something that is to be taken in four ways:
It is to be taken literally , in that as an actual body, as in a torso
It is to be taken spiritually , in that it's not a...

e-Sword World > A Case for e-Sword for Android

Posted APsit190 on 03 November 2013 - 03:32 PM

As most of you know, I'm a real e-Sword geek. I using e-Sword more so than any other Bible program mainly because it really delivers what I want and need. Moreover, I like e-Sword because its not complicated to use, and because of its clean interface. That is basically the primary reasons why I think and believe e-Sword is simply the best Bible program to...

APsit190's Theological Rants > Law, Faith, Grace. Which way to go?!

Posted APsit190 on 06 October 2013 - 05:01 PM

Dear old Clint, aka, cbb1962   has been going on going on a fair bit about adhering to the law and etc. His posts have been somewhat quite disturbing because the emphasis he places on the law has made me wonder where faith and grace fits in all of this, or does faith and grace fit in what Clint says, or is it left right out?

Clint goes on about the Law o...

APsit190's Theological Rants > The Dark Side of Calvinism by George Bryson - A review

Posted APsit190 on 20 September 2013 - 04:11 PM

Before I begin this review, I need to make some disclaimers in order that one knows where I stand and what I am both theologically and as a Christian. I guess this shows what my biases are and are not.

Firstly, before e-Sword, I didn't really know what my theological bents were. I am Pentecostal, but whether I was Calvinist, Arminianist, or whatever, I...

e-Sword World > e-Sword's Heavy Artillery

Posted APsit190 on 18 September 2013 - 07:00 PM

Now, that has to be perhaps the most unusual heading for a blog regarding e-Sword, "e-Sword's Heavy Artillery ." Well, considering that I was a Gunner in the Royal New Zealand Artillery, I guess from my perspective, its a well chosen heading, and I like it. :D That said, using artillery as an analogy, well, that is exactly what e-Sword has.

British Light...

APsit190's Theological Rants > Being Church Part 8, Ephesians 5:15-21

Posted APsit190 on 08 August 2013 - 08:30 PM

Its been some time that I've posted any notes on Ephesians, and thought it was about time that I put something up. I've just recently completed this part. I believe this part deals with the practical issues of everything that Paul was talking about in the previous verses of Chapter 5, and he brings things to a head in this section of Eph 5.

I trust, as y...

e-Sword World > e-Sword 1020, A Quick Review

Posted APsit190 on 27 July 2013 - 09:54 PM

I've just downloaded the new version of e-Sword and installed it, and had a quick look at it. Of what I have thus far seen the only thing I can say about it at this time is, "With each new version of e-Sword, it gets betterer and betterer!" Yeah, I know, bad grammar, and all that sort of stuff, but its intentional.

Perhaps the biggest thing about this ve...

e-Sword World > e-Sword, The Way You Want It!

Posted APsit190 on 02 June 2013 - 07:58 PM

All,
e-Sword, the way you want it! I really like that. One of the things I like about e-Sword is to have the layout of the interface to the way I work; to have the layout out of the interface which makes it very accessible for me. However, the way I like it may not be someone else's cup of tea (the way they like it), and that is the beaut thing about e-Sw...

APsit190's Theological Rants > Being Church - Part 7: Eph 5:8-10

Posted APsit190 on 24 April 2013 - 05:06 PM

Notes on Ephesians 5:8-10

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.  (Eph_5:8-10 NKJV)

This is a continuation of our last study of Eph_5:3-7, and here begins with Paul's statement, "For...

APsit190's Theological Rants > If this were a Church

Posted APsit190 on 24 March 2013 - 01:03 PM

e-Sword 10.1.0  Hi to All,Currently at posting there are 54,523 members here, and is still growing. This is perhaps the largest group of users for a particular piece of software, namely e-Sword (also you can add in MySword). If anything this shows, is that (of which I have said on a few occasions), it shows us just how God is really blessing Rick Meyers' m...
