I understand there is a book (Amazon says in the public domain?) named HOURS WITH THE BIBLE  by  John Cunningham Gekie.

Could somebody turn it into a module? Can it be done? Don't know the book, appears to be usefull...

Blessings!

#23773 J. B. Phillips

Posted by johanseb on 20 January 2015 - 04:06 PM

J. B. Phillips: The New Testament in Modern English:   Time ago, we had this wonderful version in e-sword. Then I believe it was withdrawn due to copyright matters.

Recently I have found  the following places:

http://www.ccel.org/.../JBPhillips.htm

and here it speaks about copyright:

http://www.ccel.org/...psCopyright.htm

where it seems the possibility  of having thew anew. (Since we had them, I suppose it wont´t be so difficult, although i believe it was not a complete version)

I love this  version, one of the most christian I have found. (I got two paperbacks it!).

greetings

#17825 Found this amazing website

Did Jesus obey the -unjust- laws of the pagan Roman Empire? Yes.

What should we do, following his example?

How do we change unjust laws?

Praying...there is One higher than the emperor.

#17813 Looking for a new project

Posted by johanseb on 13 July 2013 - 03:49 PM

I would love to have this module. It´s sold at more or less $ 40, and to have it freely is a blessing. And it has a module (about Apocryphe) from A. Edershime, a deeply christian author.

We in far away countries find e-sword a God blessed instrument to learn more about God´Word. Even with a little english, we acces great resources!

#15518 Speakers Commentary

Posted by johanseb on 29 January 2013 - 08:38 PM

Could anyone make a module of it? I believe it is in public domain, since one can find it in archive.com. It seems to be of anglican, conservative orientation. i don´t know about its teological worth, it SEEMS worthwhile.
