#35396 HALOT

Posted by anh Mike on 20 February 2019 - 09:16 PM

I have seen it and used a little of it until the Loyola University Library started to card all those who enter.  It is up to date using all the available research but like TDOT, probably more for the academic library.  Perhaps the local Library can get you photo copies of pages.  I own Holladay, the the shorter, cheaper abridged HALOT.   Like any dictionary/lexicon, you still need to do your own studying of the word.  Do what you can online and there are several translations that can help w. words as well as up to date commentaries (NICOT & WBC).  Yes there are ways around those expensive works so do your own work then consult those lexicons.  I would get Holladay not HALOT.

#31411 Gathering Interest - Hebrew Bible - ETCBC (4c) - interlinear, morphology, lin...

Posted by anh Mike on 08 September 2017 - 08:36 PM

Can you include Girdlestone's synonyms and Genenius Grammar(?).. Years ago Logos had Hebrew package like this.

Davidson, A. B - Introductory Hebrew Grammar - Hebrew Syntax - (Word Order Updated)-- you should throw this one in also.

I also have different PD synonyms Hebrew work

HEBREW SYNONYMS.

BY  JAMES KENNEDY

but it needs more proofreading and fonts.  When I can get to that on/off.

#31182 version 11 Hebrew & MS Word XP & 2000

Posted by anh Mike on 06 August 2017 - 04:41 PM

When I cut and paste Hebrew from Version 11 into MS Word XP or 2000 it will not copy neatly and messes up the sentence.  So I uninstalled and went back to 10 which I cut and paste Hebrew it is nice and neat.  Therefore version 11 is not compatible with earlier MS Word programs.  Should i e-mail Rick Meyers about this?

#30922 Morning and Evening Exercises by William Jay (1769-1853)

Posted by anh Mike on 21 June 2017 - 07:55 AM

replacing "Thou and Thee" with "you" is not copyright either.  When the copyright office wants revision you have to overhaul the work.  If this were true anyone can change a word or something else and copyright.  I have seen the NIV Bishop Lighfoot comm on epistles, which the revisers did not alter the commentary but the version in the Bible section.  ooooo! big revision!!!  I hope they did not have a nervous breakdown doing this difficult and challenging mental task.

#30757 Post e-Sword Module Requests Here

Posted by anh Mike on 20 May 2017 - 07:25 AM

"Most of the good materials out of copyright that can be distributed freely have already been done;"--I am guessing you mean certain popular works, because there are still a lot of quality PD wks out there.   And few standards ready for modules but no one is doing anything with it.

#28937 James Burton Coffman commentary

Posted by anh Mike on 18 September 2016 - 03:27 PM

Gary Gallant has this "Coffman (Copyrighted: used by permission)" therefore he has it or he is lying about it.   Abilene Christian University in their so-called copyright issues must determine this so.   Years ago a now closed christian book store was selling biblesoftware for .50 (50 cents) at a sidewalk sale but the cashier wanted 50% off the list price.  I told her to go talk to the woman outside.  After this she went to the manager who said $1 for each.  The cashier sold all to me for .50 because she already entered it in.  Same thing. ACU: Oh  could you cease and desist with the online versions so we can make money.  I read from a B-Greek member that Oxford, a decade or so ago, was claiming copyrights to BDB.  Everyone is looking for nickles and dimes to feed their budget.   They are not going to get that much from coffman.  GET A LIFE ACU!  The LORD redeemed us from such substances that cause delusions.  Someone attend their worship and blow a trumpet in the auditorium.  They need a rude awakening.

#28840 What else would you like to see for e-Sword?

Posted by anh Mike on 07 September 2016 - 09:49 PM

google has them

https://www.google.c... geikie&tbm=bks

https://archive.org/...thbibleor05geik

best advice is to cut and paste from google into word processor, IF the google copies OCR/Text is good.  You might have to check archive, org if google texts are no good.

#28112 Hastings 5 vols DB, not DCG or DAC

Posted by anh Mike on 02 July 2016 - 11:57 AM

I have been dragging over the years with this work.  So here is the situation unless others get involved then probably I die before it gets done.  Vol 1 & 5 need some greek/hebrew repair, colons between chapters/verse ( I used find/replace).  Vol

2-4 need proofreads, repair chapters/verse refs.  A lot has been done but more needs to be done.  Any takers to help?  Best copies around outside of logos.  A very challenging work.

#28092 Any Plans for Editing K&D?

Posted by anh Mike on 30 June 2016 - 01:40 PM

the older version is not locked.  And can be modified legally as long as you do not remove it from the data base.  It should be the old MS access file that hung out in space orbiting the internet.  Probably still in orbit somewhere.  You may also play around the Word Module version which is user module and not official.
