If I have to re-install e-Sword on my laptop do I have to go thru that painful process of downloading all of my bibles, commentaries and dictionaries one at a time?

If you already have the Bibles and such on your computer, than that is not necessary.  Just copy them all to another folder, then re-install e-Sword, and them move them back to the e-Sword folder, and all is well

Unless you wiped out the e-Sword folder as well no.

But if you do first back up our bblx, comtx, dctx and topx files to cd-rom or flash drive.

That way if you ever need to reinstall all or even just one of them help is just a drag and drop away.

That way at worst all you should loose is the markup files (highlights and underlines etc).

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

My laptop had to be reformatted and I thought I had everything on my backup external drive, but can't find the $50 + worth of Bibles I purchased and downloaded.  Now what?????????  Do I have to spend another $50 +to repurchase them?  It was several years ago and don't think I have receipts.  I felt sick when I had reinstalled eSword and then couldn't find all te Bibles, commentaries, an dictionaries I purchased.

Both estudy source https://estudysource...age/index.aspx

and American Bible  Sales  http://www.americanb...u.php?mm=12&tm=

allow you to recover the unlock keys, and even download a fresh copy that the key will open.

You  need to log in then select My Account > View orders  to recover the keys and redownload for estudy source (you need to rememeber what e-mail address you had when you bought the modules, but they can help with that too.

For American Bible Sales (NASB and/or Amplified Bible ) go to the software section and click on the Bible you need the key for then read the instructions in blue.
