Pseudo-Macarius (tentatively identified as Simeon of Mesopotamia, a leader of the Euchites or Messalians) was a 4th century Syrian monastic whose writings were attributed to Macarius of Egypt (c. 300-391), one of the pioneers of desert monasticism at Scetis.
