#46045 What Modules do you want for e-Sword

Posted by Tj Higgins on 04 March 2024 - 10:49 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Hi, All.  Is there a possibility for a Besorah Of Yahusha Natsarim Version (BYNV) module?

Thank you

As that is a copyrighted work the copyright holder would have to grant permission for a module to be made

#46041 John Gill top.exe for eSword 8 only?

Posted by Tj Higgins on 03 March 2024 - 02:28 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Hi. I did what you suggested, and it shows up in the file menu now, but but the topic notes remains blank. Maybe I downloaded the wrong file from biblesupport, I'll have to check.

Thank you.

Try looking for the module in the e-Sword Resource Library it may show up there

#46029 Free- New Book: God's "servant" Satan- Need help with Module

Posted by Tj Higgins on 01 March 2024 - 01:56 PM in Module Content

Hi I'm new to this forum.

I'm a missionary/pastor and author.  I've written several books for training pastors overseas as well as stateside.

I try to make these available for free for believers everywhere.  I've recently written a book about the story and purpose of Satan from the Bible; it's called: God's "servant" Satan and it has been well received by hundreds of Christian workers around the world.  I've been challenged to also make it available for free through the Esword community but I don't have the ability/ know-how to create that module.  I'm looking for someone who could take the digital document and convert it for me. If you are willing to convert it for me, could you please contact me via message or comment.

FYI: I already have copies in Word,  PDF, RTF and epub formats with chapter headings and links built in.

Blessings!

Can you post some details about the book such as length, number of chapters and any copyright issues.

Making a module should be fairly easy to accomplish

#46028 Creating Bible Modules with Strong's Numbers

Posted by Tj Higgins on 01 March 2024 - 12:38 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

Hi Higgsy,

Remember this tip?

Now, if he has a "quick" method, I'm certain he will share it with you. It'll save you pulling your hair out (that's if you have any :D) trying to figure it out.

Remember the old adage, "You'll never know unless you give it a go." So, ask him. It won't cost you anything. Fair dinkum, mate.

Blessings,

I contacted  Rick Meyers and here is his response:

"There are quite a few of these Bibles on the user group, so I suppose you could crack one open and have a look.

In His service,

Rick Meyers"

I have also emailed Josh Bond because I came across and old discussion thread on this site between him and Brent H the developer of Tooltip. Apparently Brent was working on an automated way to add Strong's numbers to bible modules and used whatever method he devised to create the AKJV bible module with Strong's.

#46024 Creating Bible Modules with Strong's Numbers

Posted by Tj Higgins on 29 February 2024 - 02:34 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

I am not having much luck with finding away to create bibles with Strong's Number's.

I have tried a few macros with Open Office Writer but have had no luck, I have also checked out a number of Find and Replace software programs with no luck.

Hopefully I will hit on something

#46020 Amplified Bible NIV version for mysword

Posted by Tj Higgins on 28 February 2024 - 05:29 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Higgsy,

The NIV and Amplified Bibles are locked resources, and cannot be converted using Simple Bible Reader. Moreover, when you give advice like this (as much as I hate saying this), you're, ummm, condoning a criminal activity  . Naughty boy!!!

Blessings,

I just did a test Simple Bible Reader will read and convert both bible modules, the lock on the modules only prevents programs such as Tooltip and the e-Sword Module Converter from reading them.

#46018 Amplified Bible NIV version for mysword

Posted by Tj Higgins on 28 February 2024 - 10:41 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Have been hard trying to find some great Bible versions that do work well with Mysword Bible

Older forum threads here shows that it is a copyright issue. So I don't know if that is still the case today.

#46016 The file TX27_WND.DLL has not been found. (Code: 0x000000c1)

Posted by Tj Higgins on 27 February 2024 - 09:27 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

The file TX27_WND.DLL is specific to the following version of e-Sword Tooltip NT: Version 2019.1007, this version was released on 10/07/2019. The file is the text control file used by Tooltip NT in creating modules. It was replaced with TX28_WND.DLL in November 2019 with the release of the following version of Tooltip: Version 2020/04/11 which was released on November 11, 2019.

According to the Tooltip download page here on Bible Support, the two versions of Tooltip mentioned above are compatible with e-Sword versions 12 and 13 only.

Both of the DLL files seem have bugs that cause problems with e-Sword for Windows

If you are already using e-Sword versions 12 or 13 then try the following:

Uninstall e-Sword Tooltip NT
After the uninstall check to see if either of the Tooltip folders remain one of these folders is located in the Program Files (x86) folder and the other is located in Documents folder. If either folder remains manually delete them.
Download the following version of e-Sword Tooltip NT from here on Bible Support:

  • Version 2019.0818 08/18/2019 Note: This version is one of the three versions available on the Tooltip download page.

Install this version of Tooltip NT. Note this version will install TX24_WND.DLL which e-Sword 12 and 13 should not have any issues with.

#45993 Format for a hyperlink to a note in a Notes table within .bbli

Cool that's good to know

#45988 Format for a hyperlink to a note in a Notes table within .bbli

Posted by Tj Higgins on 21 February 2024 - 05:47 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

They work without it I have just confirmed with my own test module

That I was not aware of you can use html tags to add things such as Bold, italics or Underline to note text

Did you test your module in the Android, Apple or MAC versions of e-Sword because those versions do need the <RF> tags I believe?

#45986 Format for a hyperlink to a note in a Notes table within .bbli

Posted by Tj Higgins on 21 February 2024 - 05:44 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

No need for the <RF> <Rf> tags, they are used in a theWord Bible module not here.

I used them in the WEB Bible modules with Pop-Up Notes that I created and uploaded here, and yes they do work in e-Sword other wise the note text will not appear in the Pop-Up

#45984 Format for a hyperlink to a note in a Notes table within .bbli

Posted by Tj Higgins on 21 February 2024 - 05:23 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

The ESV+.bblx module has notes contained within a Notes table.  Within the Bible table a note such as N1 will link to the corresponding note in the Notes table when one mouseovers the N1 in the Bible text.

I would like to do the same in a custom .bbli module.  The ESV+.bblx module is scrambled so I cannot see how they did it.

I have tried <not>N1</not> and that does not work.  I am guessing that some hyperlink in my bbli module such as <a href="..."><not>N1</not></a> might work, but I don't know what to put in the place of ... so that it links to the proper note in the Notes table within my .bbli module.

You need to use an SQL database program to create the notes table which is where you will put all of the notes information  The table will consist of five columns and as a many rows as you need for your notes. Each note will have a row in the notes table containing three numbers, a note identifier and the text of the note.

The three numbers in each row identify the book, chapter and verse which will have the pop-up note, the identifier such as N1. The text for each note is formatted as show below:

<RF>While the rest of chapter 1 uses ordinal numbers (eg. second, third, fourth, etc.) verse 5 actually uses the Hebrew word (ech 'ad), which is the cardinal number one. This is different from the ordinal number meaning "first" which is represented by the Hebrew word (rish'on). Thus it literally reads, "one day" and not "the first day." <Rf>

The only thing you need to add the text of the verse in the verses table is <not>N1</not>, when the bible is open in e-Sword moving the mouse over the N1 will cause the note to display in what is called a "Pop-up".

I previously posted all of the information on how to do this here:

#45982 NEWS e-Sword updated the MODULE CONVERTER

Posted by Tj Higgins on 21 February 2024 - 03:46 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but my McAfee program says that the Module Conversion Utility has a virus and will not let me download it. I tried contacting Rick on his website two times but have not received any type of response which is relatively annoying.

Anyway, I also suggested that he use a hash (SHA256 or SHA512), so we know the program has not been manipulated by bad actors.

You might need to turn McAfee off and do the download, the converter program is perfectly safe

#45980 Creating Bible Modules with Strong's Numbers

Posted by Tj Higgins on 21 February 2024 - 02:20 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

Hi Higgsy,

Having looked at your code, the problem I see with it, is that it replaces all the words with just those Strong numbers only. So, for example take the word "Earth." Going by what I can see, there are two Strong numbers for that word: H776 and H127. So, reading your syntax, where the word Earth is suppose to have H127; that will have H776. That then becomes a major problem because you have a incorrect rendering of that word, Earth, in that instance or those instances. You have to resolve this problem. You can't just ignore it. See examples below:

My suggestion is you pick Rick Meyers' brains on resolving this problem. And bearing this in mind, I'd be interested to see what your thoughts are on this issue.

Blessings,

Good points but they can worked around depending on how the find and replace strings are configured.

One thought I had was to replace phrases instead of single words as shown below:

StrFind = "beginning, God, created, heaven, earth, and of the earth"

StrRepl = "beginningH7225, GodH430, createdH1254, heavenH8064, earthH778, from the earthH127"
