#17721 Is there a way to edit the content of .dctx files?

Posted by AveMaria02 on 07 July 2013 - 12:30 AM

Hey everyone. I asked a similar question before but that thread is quite old and I wanted to start a new thread and try to clarify what I mean.

Okay, here goes. I have a .dctx file which I use in E-Sword. Its a Catholic Doctrinal Concordance. Okay, you know how the section in E-Sword for .dctx (dictionary) files has tabs at the top, a section at the bottom where you view the content, and a side bar where you can pick a topic in the dictionary file? Well, what I am wanting to do is I am wanting to be able to create new topics that would show up in the side bar which has content in it that I can view. I am also wanting to edit the content in the existing topics. In other words, I'd like to be able to go in to the .dctx file with some sort of editor and edit the content of each topic and add new topics so that I can see new things in each topic and create new topics with new content. Does that make sense to anyone?

So anyway, is there a simple way to do this? Please note that I am not a programmer and so any kind of programming utility would probably be too difficult for me to use. I am hoping that there is some sort of editing program I can use to edit these files so there is more content in them. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

#16460 I can't figure out how to edit a Topic Notes in Topic Notes Editor

Posted by AveMaria02 on 02 April 2013 - 09:36 PM

Hey everyone. As all of you know, E-Sword has three editors within the program itself, one of which is for Topic Notes. Well, i am wanting to edit one of my Topic Notes but I have no idea how to do so because every single one of the buttons for the Topic Notes editor is grayed out. How do I fix this?

#15054 New American Bible Revised Edition

Can someone please create this module for me?  I am only going to use it for personal use so I am pretty sure that would not be violating copyright.  I would make it myself if I knew how but I have no idea how to do so.

#13410 Is there a program to edit the text of existing E-Sword Modules?

Posted by AveMaria02 on 23 October 2012 - 10:30 AM

hi

open Tool Tip Tool NT
click on Modules
say you want to open a bible - click on bible scroll down to Read Bible and it will open up (as long as it is not encrypted)

Again the main things is Modules top click on the type of module you want to open and the key word is Read.

thanks

Okay, I have that figured out.  Now here's the thing.  Some of the modules I have contain Scripture references but for some reason they don't display the Bible verse when you hover on them and if you click them they don't make E-Sword automatically go to that passage of Scripture with the Bible.  How do I fix that?  Also, I am speaking of Dictionary modules (.dctx)

#7551 I cannot get my downloaded Bible module to work in E-Sword 10.0.7

#7545 I cannot get my downloaded Bible module to work in E-Sword 10.0.7

Posted by AveMaria02 on 27 March 2012 - 11:36 PM

Hey everyone.  I downloaded the Catholic version of the Revised Standard Version Bible module for E-Sword.  It used to work fine but when I upgraded to E-Sword 10.0.7 it stopped working.  The file is a .bblx file so it should work fine with E-Sword but now I can't get it to work.  If I can get any help with making E-Sword recognize this Bible module, I would greatly appreciate it.  I have attatched the Bible module file I am using just in case you need to check it out.

Anyway, this is what I did.  I downloaded the file and then I extracted the contents of the archive to my E-Sword folder which on my computer is C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword.  I think why it says (x86) is because my computer has a 64 bit processor.  Also, I am using Windows 7 with all of the latest updates.

Hello everyone.  I am looking for a module that contains verse links to various Popular Bible Stores such as the Wedding at Cana, Jonah and the Whale/Big Fish, Noah and the Ten Commandments, etc. Does anyone know of a module like this?

#5122 Hello from a Catholic user of E-Sword!

Posted by AveMaria02 on 31 December 2011 - 03:05 AM

Hello everyone!  I am an orthodox, devout, traditional Roman Catholic and yes, I use E-Sword for many of my apologetics endeavors and also for simply studying the Bible and such.  And since I am a Catholic, I am primarily interested in the Catholic modules available for E-Sword.  Unfortunately there is nowhere near as many Catholic modules for E-Sword as there is Protestant modules and other non-Catholic modules.  I, personally, would like to see this change and at least see the number of Catholic modules be roughly the same number or at least somewhere close to the same number as Protestant and other non-Catholic modules.  I don't see that happening at any time in the near future but that's okay.  The main reason why I am here on BibleSupport.com is in order to find more Catholic modules for my E-Sword program.  I am interested in everyting from Bible modules to Dictionary modules to Commentary modules to Topic modules.  So yes, basically I am interested in all modules for E-Sword that are intended for use by Catholics.   :)

Anyway, a little about me.  As I said, I am an orthodox, devout, and traditional Roman Catholic.  I am a 29 year old lady from Southwestern Indiana.  I live within the Diocese of Evansville, Indiana.  I attend a Mass in the Ordinary Form (regular English Mass) but would love to someday attend a Mass in the Extraordinary Form (Latin Mass).  I converted to Catholicism in 2006.  I officially became a Catholic on Easter Vigil (Saturday night before Easter Sunday) of 2006.  I was raised a Southern Baptist but the Southern Baptist doctrines never made any sense to me and frankly, did not seem to be Biblical at all.  I then went on a search through various Protestant religions and even some non-Christian religions such as Islam.  Again, none of them made any sense to me and did not seem Biblical or very close to the Truth.  Finally, a friend from an online forum introduced me to the Catholic Church.  He told me how the Catholic Church has a line of Popes going clear back to Saint Peter, the apostle of Jesus Christ.  Well, this really interested me a lot and it was pretty much at that moment that I knew I would eventually become Catholic.  I did do some more study on the Catholic Church and learned more and more about their beliefs and doctrines.  The more I learned, the more I loved it.  And now, I am fully convinced that the Catholic Church is the Church and only religion that God Himself founded here on earth and that it is the only religion and Church that He fully approves of and protects from doctrinal error with His Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Most Holy Trinity who is God just the same as the Father, first Person of the Most Holy Trinity, and Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Most Holy Trinity.

That said, I have a cat named Precious.  She is a 7 year old female and she is very loving and very sweet.  I have had her ever since I took her in from my Grandma's house who was keeping her outside. That was when she was just a young kitten.  I have had her ever since and owning her and taking care of this beautiful creature of God's has been a delight to me!

Some of the other interests that I have include: movies based upon the Bible, fictional movies with a Biblical theme, historical movies based on true events in history, historical movies that are fictional, non-fiction books, very few fiction books, spiritual books, health, alternative health, mental health, physical health, research and treatments on chronic pain, research and treatments on Fibromyalgia, research and treatments on Borderline Personality Disorder, star gazing, astronomy in general, evangelizing, playing computer games, playing Nintendo games, playing Super Nintendo games, playing Nintendo 64 games, writing, journaling,  comparative religion, and many other things.

That said, I am disabled.  I have Fibromyalgia, Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depression, and quite a few other health conditions.  Also, Borderline Personality Disorder is not the same thing as multiple personality disorder which is now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder.  I am on SSI and have not worked since 2004 or 2005.  I am also on Medicaid and Food stamps.  I am very thankful to God for my SSI, Medicaid, and Food stamps.  I know that some Christians are opposed to welfare but I am not.  I believe that welfare is a good thing for those of us who truly need it.

Finally, I do tend to make very long winded posts like this one.  This one isn't as long winded as some of the posts I have been known to make in other online forums and message boards though.  I have been known to make some posts that are several pages long.   :P I have also been known to make very short posts sometimes consisting of only one sentence and sometimes consisting of only one or two paragraphs.  But anyway, I hope to meet some nice people on here and I look forward to posting with you all!
