John Nelson Hyde (November 9, 1865-February 17, 1912) was an American missionary who preached in the Punjab.

Born in Illinois, the son of a Presbyterian minister. This minister prayed that God would raise up more missionaries. John Hyde passed college and became a member of the faculty. Strangly, he resigned and entered into McCormick Theological Seminary. His elder brother Edmund was also in the seminary. Edmund dreamt of being a preacher, so in pursuit of this dream he went to preach in Montana but suddenly died of a fever. John wondered if he would take his brother's place. In his senior year he asked a fellow student, Mr. Konkle, for his argument supporting missionary work. That night he decided to become a missionary at last.

He came to believe that God was calling him to India. He departed to India in 1892 to preach in the Punjab region. On the way, he read a letter from a friend who said he would ask God to fill John with the Holy Spirit. Angry at the suggestion that he did not already have the Spirit, he threw it away. However he then humbled himself and prayed to God for help.

As he was partially deaf, he struggled to learn the native languages. Also while in India, he continued to focus his study mostly on Scripture. His mission at first gained few converts and endured persecution. So he began to pray very intensely. From 1899 he began to spend entire nights in prayer to God. In 1904 he began to attend a conference at Sialkot. He formed the Punjab Prayer Union, the members of which set aside half an hour a day to pray for spiritual revival. In 1908 he told the conference his dream that there would be one conversion a day, and a year later over 400 more converts had been made. He came to be called "Praying Hyde" for his passionate prayers to reach lost souls. Near the end of his life, it was discovered that he was very unwell. His heart had moved from its normal position (in the left) to the right. He went home to America and died there, in February 1912. His last words were "Shout the victory of Jesus Christ!"

About Choo Thomas

Choo Thomas is a simple, down-to-earth Korean American. She is married and has two children and four grandchildren.

In 1992, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and since then, has strived to please the Lord with all her heart. Two years later, she saw Jesus' visible presence at a Neighborhood Assembly of God in Tacoma, Washington and in 1995, she began having physical manifestations from the Holy Spirit.

In 1996, the Lord Jesus escorted Choo into heaven and told her to record what she has seen and heard, bringing forth the book, "Heaven is so Real".

This file contains the course designed by Don Krow and Andrew Wommack together to Disciple Christians for the purpose of rooting them deeply in the WORD of GOD through relationship with GOD. This is very fantastic course and pastors can use it in their churches to train the new believers. Total courses is divided into 3 levels with 16 lessons in each level. Consider this—if you evangelized 1,000 people per year for fifteen years, you would end up with 15,000 new believers, assuming they were all genuine conversions. If you led 1 person to the Lord every six months and spent the next six months discipling that person so they could reproduce themselves, what do you think would happen? In one year, there would only be 2 disciples. However, after sixteen-and-a-half years, if each continued to reproduce themselves every six months, there would be no one left on earth to evangelize. Jesus’ method of discipleship would produce nearly 7 billion disciples in less than seventeen years. discipleship evangelism works!

I can find the files My Documents/eSword and all the downloaded .topx files, but not sure what you mean by Programs/eSword.

Hi Bro,

If you have installed windows 64 bit version there will be 2 folders where all the installation software files are copied in your operating system drive (usually this will be C:).

• Program files - where all the 64bit version software files are copied.
• Program files(x86) - where all the 32bit version software files are copied.

After installing e-Sword it will create all its files in C:\Program files(x86)\e-Sword folder. Now copy all the .topx files you found in your My Documents/eSword folder to C:\Program files(x86)\e-Sword.

Now open eSword and go to Tools--> Reference Library. Now you should see your files in the list.
