#44514 Greek LXX Coded to Strong's with All of the LXX Books

Posted by Todd S on 03 June 2023 - 06:44 AM in Module Requests

I have found the Greek OT+ module and it is great because it is coded to Strong's. However, it follows the books in the Masoretic Text and does not have all the LXX books. It would be great if there was such a module:)

ABP+ is an excellent resource. I am in it all the time. I wish it contained all of the LXX books though.

#44657 Why the Grey? Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers

Posted by Todd S on 01 July 2023 - 07:18 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I notice in this interlinear (Greek NT INT+) some words are located in a box that is dark grey. Why is that? I looked at the information file for it and there is nothing there to tell me the reason.

Thanks

Todd

#45310 BIBi Morphology not working in iPhone

Posted by Todd S on 08 November 2023 - 05:59 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

BIBi morphology not working in iphone. I have the dictionary installed and Bibi installed. I am able to click on the strong's number and get a lookup because it is linked but the verbs, nouns, conj reference is not hyperlinked and I am not able to click on those to get a look. Am I missing a file?

#45321 Hebrew Interlinear with Morphology?

Posted by Todd S on 09 November 2023 - 06:34 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Is there a module that is an Interlinear of the OT that includes Morphology similar to the Berean Bible study modules for the NT? I want to be able to look and see if a word is plural, or the subject, present tense, etc. in the OT?

Thanks!

Todd

#45322 BIBi Morphology not working in iPhone

Posted by Todd S on 09 November 2023 - 06:40 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

What is the bbli translation or language you are referring to where the morphy thingy isn't working?

Just had a thought: If you changed the file extension from bbli to bibi, that just might be the reason why the morphy isn't working. Just don't ask me why I had a thought like that, as I haven't got a clue.

Blessings,

Me!

I have the BIB+ and the BIB++ installed. I didn't change the file extension:) I just wrote it down in the post wrong.

I also have the Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers installed which the parts of speech letters are linked and work. This is the one that can be installed right from e-sword itself. I like the Berean a little better.

Thanks

#45323 BIBi Morphology not working in iPhone

Posted by Todd S on 09 November 2023 - 06:43 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Todd S,

Unfortunately, it may just be an issue with the capabilities or screen size or differences in the e-Sword application programming for an Apple iPhone.  I'll try to attach a screenshot of how it works on a Windows PC.  If I click on the blue morphology text, such as on V-PPA-GMP in Luke 24:41, then in the Dictionaries window, the Berean dictionary tab shows the blue icon indicating that it has related information, and displays the relevant information below when I click on the Berean tab.  There is no popup window involved for the morphology, so it is a very different type of response than when I hover over the Strong's number (also shown on the screenshot). Do you have other Bibles where the morphology works as desired for you on the iPhone?  If yes, then if you let me know which Bible(s), I will see if I can figure something out.  Since I don't have an iPhone, my abilities to figure something out are limited.

#45336 Hebrew Interlinear with Morphology?

Posted by Todd S on 10 November 2023 - 09:09 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Thank you everybody. I just want to let you know I checked them all out. This one meets what I was looking for:

http://www.biblesupp...rongs-an-notes/

BSBHebGrkINTPC++.zip is required for the PC version if you want to be able to click on the parts of speech and get the info.

Unfortunately neither BSBHebGrkINTPC++.zip

nor

BSBHebGrkINT++.zip

parts of speech do not work on the iphone. You can't long press nor tap to get anything to open up

But the PC version indicated by the letters PC on the end of the file name works great on eSword desktop. The other one does not on desktop.

#45339 BIBi Morphology not working in iPhone

Posted by Todd S on 10 November 2023 - 11:08 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

That particular file works fine as is on iphone. The Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/Strong's Numbers and RMAC. I was wanting the Berean Int bible morphology to display on the iphone. It doesn't. Works great on PC though. But at least the Greek Intl that comes with esword morph links work. It is sufficient. Thanks

Yes I have the Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers installed which the parts of speech letters are linked and work. This is the one that can be installed right from e-sword itself. I like the Berean a little better.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If eSword successfully finds that morphology code in the RMAC dictionary, then you are in luck and can get a popup of the appropriate entry from the RMAC dictionary module, just by hovering over top of the morphology code.

If a Bible module doesn't place the morphology codes between <tvm> and </tvm> tags, or if a Bible module uses morphology codes that aren't found in the RMAC dictionary module, then you will not get a popup.

Thanks for the explanation.

#45612 Dictionary recommendations?

Posted by Todd S on 14 December 2023 - 09:06 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

I am looking for a Greek dictionary that is more than the standard lexicon form of the word. I want to see it all:
For example, if I click on the strong's number for ἡμᾶς in my software it will give me the definition for εγο. If I click on the Greek word itself to pull up the morphology, I still only get the strong's lexicon word and definition.

Are there any recommendations for a better dictionary? Thanks!
Todd

#45615 Dictionary recommendations?

Ahh.

Some Bible modules will associate  ἡμᾶς with Strong's number G1473 -- the standard lexeme form εγο of the word.  Other Bible modules will associate  ἡμᾶς  with Strong's number G2248 -- the word ἡμᾶς , but indicate that  ἡμᾶς  is the accusative plural of  εγο  and include a reference to Strong's G1473.  Which Bible module causes you to see this issue, and which Strong's number is it associating with  ἡμᾶς  ?

Ahh, thank you. I was using the BGB and BIB++ modules for Greek learning. BGB being just the Greek text. BIB++ (Berean Modules) being the transliteration and strong's number. BIB++ uses your first example G1473. However when I switched to the Greek NT INT+ that has both Transliteration and strong's number G2248 (downloaded from within the esword software) it used your second example.

This is a big help. I appreciate it very much. I just want the correct definition of every word in the Greek NT! Unfortunately this is not the first time I have found the Greek NT INT+ module to be superior to the BIB++, but the BIB++ is easier to read. Sigh. One day, I will be able to read and understand the Greek without an interlinear hopefully

#45634 Missing Font(s)

Posted by Todd S on 18 December 2023 - 05:21 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Some modules have missing fonts. for example,

Liddell and Scott Greek–English Lexicon (LSJ; unabridged); work with GRV or Greek NT INT+

This is just one of a few that I don't have the correct fonts on my PC. Does anyone know what fonts I need to install to correct this?

Another one I have this problem a lot with is

Mounce Concise Greek-English Dictionary

Thanks
