e-Sword 9+ Module Download:
Download Is Jesus God? Verse List 1.0

Theology Proper (NatureOfGod)

e-Sword Version:
9.x - 10.x

This is an e-Sword verse list file (.lstx), containing the list of 45 verses in a handout distributed freely in hard copy and posted publicly on the church web site where Jack Hibbs is the Senior Pastor - Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, CA.
http://www.calvarycc..._1324419848.pdf

The purpose as taught by Pastor Hibbs is to use as a witnessing tool, especially for those such as Jews who have not yet recognized Yeshua as their Messiah, who need to see the Deity of Christ clearly and unmistakeably revealed in the Old Testament. This collection of verses also works well with Jehovah's Witnesses who may come to your door, because they can be asked to read them in their own NWT Bible and answer the question "Who is this?" for each one, as these particular verses have not been changed or mistranslated by the Watchtower Society.

To use, copy this file into the folder where your e-Sword user files are located (varies by Windows version); these are the files that contain journal, study, and topic notes, lists, markups, memory verses, prayers, and reading plans with file extensions .jnlx, .notx, .topx, .lstx, .ovlx, .memx, .prlx, and brpx. Start or restart e-Sword, then open Verse List feature from either the menu under Bible, or using the icon on the tool bar. In the dialog that opens, click on the drop list at the top and select "Is Jesus God". Click OK. The verses can then either be picked or cycled through in sequence from the tool bar.

I saw the title & found it intriging and had to answer before even downloading. I look forward to downloading & reading. I'm reminded of the following verses:

In Revelation 1:8 the Lord God says:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Then a few verses down in Rev 1:17 the Lord God futher says to John as John falls down at the Lord God's feet as though dead:

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, 18 and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

The "Lord God", "Alpha & Omega", "the Almighty", "first and the last", & "living one", who died and behold I live forever more speaking here is Jesus Christ Himself. There has always been one God and that has not changed. Jesus Christ is not a man who became God but God who became man to die for the sins of the world & rose again. For the Jews, Isaiah 9:6, which follows, speaks of a child being born who clearly is speaking of their (our Messiah), who is not only a "Wonderful Counselor" & "Prince of Peace", but also "Mighty GOD" and "Everylasting Father". Jesus can't claim those last two titles unless He is God Himself and clearly scripture, i.e. OT scripture, is pointing to the fact that "whoever this Messiah would be" would have to be God Himself since the Messiah is called the "Mighty God" and "Everlasting Father". No one on this planet from the beginning of time to the present fulfills the prophetic scriptures regarding that Messiah & His birth/arrival (1st) but Jesus Himself. No one but Him.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

My "sermonette" for the lost world that might surf the web and land on this page. Now I'm going to download the article. Looks like it will be a good one!

PS - By the way, Muslims incorrectly think we are polytheists, i.e. worshippers of "many" or more than one god like the Hindus, and having read the Quran from cover to cover it is from that book where they get that false teaching. They simply just don't understand the "Trinity", i.e. for we are made up of three parts, i.e .Body, Soul, & Spirit. Water comes in 3 forms, i.e. Solid, Liquid, & Gas. God can be in more than one place at the same time and even give a part of Himself a human existence to be a sacrifical Lamb.

Finally, if you want to really get "confused" when discussing the "Trinity", scripture speaks of God having seven spirits that roam about the earth...not one...yet scripture & Jesus spoke of a singular Holy Spirit. Just little things on my checklist to be "cleared up"  during the millenal mellal mialanial the melenal...uh the thousand year reign of Christ. ;)
